Self Pay Financing

How long does it take? I haven't applied yet because I figured I'd go to consultation and stuff first (Thursday). Does it take long to get approved and then come through or is the process fast?

I myself did not Finance But my sister did. She applied around Dec 14th was approved the same day. Went to her first visit on the 19th and had surgery on the 31st of Dec. So yes it was very fast. The docters office just called the finance company to verify and precended with the surgery.

Hi Angie,

I am a worrier so I started looking into the financing about two months before my surgery date. I heard back from the two companies that my surgeon works with within a few days of applying. Ultimately I did not go with either one because of the requirements, interest rates, etc. But it went very quickly. They actually couldn't even send me the paperwork until a month before (the quote was only good for 30 days) so I had to wait on that to decide if I wanted to go that way vs. a credit card. So you should have no problem hearing back quickly.

I just now applied and got the approval instantly. Guess I worried for nothing. LOL

My consult was today, so surgery should be around 3 weeks or so from now! Yay!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
