OK I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that bounces around 1-3 lbs. I usally weigh about 2-3 times a week just to make sure I don't shoot up 10 lbs. The weight loss is really slow right now, I feel like I will never get to my goal.

Look what a few months can do... 13 lbs from goal. Congrats!

I weigh myself at least once a day after I get up in the morning.

Sometimes I will do it later in the day, but dang it can sure fluctuate!

Once a week.

More than that I would start to become obsessive about it. So, I just accept that during the days and week my weight will fluctuate, and I weight once a week, the same day of the week, on the same scale wearing the same thing.

I step on that scale once a day and hate to say but sometimes twice and agree with you that it can be depressing weighing once a day; however, for now I don't plan on changing until I am more comfortable at my weight. Good luck!

I weigh myself every morning before I jump in the shower. The only weigh-in that I count as official is the one from my monthly doctor visit.

I measure inches lost once a month too, when I return from my doctor's visit. I journal the numbers, so I can reflect where I was and where I am going.

I weigh myself most every day.. I miss occassionally. I like to do this in the morning, after a BM, naked, and after I feel the puffiness leaving my body. I always retain fluids overnight.. I test my rings.. If I can't get them off, then I don't weigh!!!

I know that sounds weird...but I think of my scale as my friend. It tells me what I need to know.... I do try very hard to not let what it says upset me if it isn't favorable.. I try to remember that we weigh different at different times.. with clothes, with Constipation, with a cold... But not knowing or waiting a week or more would drive me nuts.. Just make it your friend and let it be a tool just like the band is... Julie

Right now I have been weighing myself once a day, naked, right before I get in the shower. I know they say once a week is more accurate, but I just can't believe how much its moved already.

I officially weigh in once a week. Though I am on the scale every morning just to see. For the first few weeks after banding I was on the scale multiple times a day. I was becoming obsessed so I now limit to once a day . Though I have cheated a bit, but tend to not like the results when I weigh in at night....morning is ALWAYS more weight friendly!

My dietitian told me to weigh myself one time per day to make sure I stay on track. If I see that I am gaining I can fix it before it gets out of control. I think I am a little obsessed though. I weigh myself at least 5 times a day, most of the time more than that. I am so ready for this weight to come off. It's not like after 1 hour of exercise I will see a drop in weight but I just have a bad obsession with the scale and I don't know if I can stop. If I see my weight hasn't gone down in a couple of days I get depressed and do whatever I can to speed up my weight loss. This last fill has helped me out because my weight seems to be dropping as the days go by. I hope it continues for a while as long as I keep doing my part but I know it won't always come off this easy.

I am completely addicted to the scale....I was weighing, in the morning, when I got home from work after I ate dinner and before I went to bed....I have had to limit myself to just once a day...its really hard for me not to step on each time I see a scale or walk into my bathroom. But I have learned that hard way that if I dont weigh I gain very quickly...luckily for right now I am losing it very quickly.

I had to finally take my scale to my daughters house so I can't step on it every time I walk past it. I was getting way to obsessed. but still if I am visiting someone and see a scale in their bathroom, guess what I'm on it! probably not a good idea since all scales weigh differently, so now I only log what I weigh at the gym once a week

I voted once a day (in the morning), though you should really only do it once a week. Your daily weight can fluctuate so it is not an accurate reading.

Every day!! Sometimes again in the evening if I feel that I've been particularly good or bad

I have now started taking measurements so that I can see it changing when the scale doesn't. (one more thing to obsess over lol)

I feel horrid if I can't weigh myself - like on vacation. I have to know how I'm doing.

I weigh every morning and no more than that. I find it does help me monitor so if I ate something the night before and the next morning I hit the scale and I have gained a pound or more, then I put that food on my no-no list until I am at the maintenance level. Then I will revisit but not until then. I liked the point that you make above. It seems like I have lost more inches than pounds. It has helped me a little bit to lose the inches. I told my husband yesterday, I need new undies. I can pull my old ones almost to my chin!:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
