Fill Doctor in Edmonton Alberta?

Recommended Posts

Dana, come here : Canada Local Lap-Band Support - Lap Band Talk Forum - The largest forum for Lap Band Surgery Discussion and Lap Band Surgery Support and ask that question. You'll have more luck with Canadians. I don't remember anyone mentioning any fill Dr's in Edmonton, but that doesn't mean there isn't. Someone will be able to answer you, and if nothing else, you have lots of choice in Calgary!

The last date on this thread is 2008. Is there any additional information on Fill Doctors in Edmonton. I called the Allen Clinic this AM and the Lap-Band® Dr there will only do his own surgical patients.

I was banded in Mexico so my options are more limited. I now go to Dr. Peggy Burke in Calgary who will do fills for anyone despite where/who banded them. I tried Dr. Jim in Grande Prairie but it became very complicated as he wanted me to have a GP in Grande Prairie in case something went wrong (despite the fact that he is in a hospital! Dr Burke is very pleasant, her hours are very accommodating and she charges $100.

hi the info I got from Slimband in Toronto is there is a clinic in Edmonton which is located at 10020 101A Avenue NW. I don't have a ph number but maybe the TO office could give it to you. I was told they do fills there for Slimband patients.

Would it be possible to get Dr Burke's contact info? I am being banded in Winnipeg later this month but live in Calgary?

Thank you!

Marlee

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
