I dunno Penni--- good thing I"m not a skiny girl ...

So I guess no forgiveness needed!

Waves of gravity

Pulling against my heart strings

Unseen enemy (I wrote this one for Dylan’s Mom)

Hidden by layers

Of soft, protective coating

My heart becomes hard

I sharpen its edge

And use this new knife

To carve my rebirth

Fighting for my life

I become less of myself

And emerge equal.

Shedding our cocoon

Breaking free from self exile

Butterflies emerge

No more need for fat

protective body armor

Ready for amour

Under the old rules

Band from participation

New band changes all

Surgery went fine.

Recovery was so rough,

I wanted to die.

Only three weeks out --

but that seems like long ago.

And now I feel great.

When I felt that bad,

I thought I'd made a mistake

in getting this band.

But now I eat out

and don't embarass myself

by eating too fast.

I taste what I eat

and chew food until it's gone

and then I feel full.

Although I know that

the band is only a tool,

it's a tool I need.

I don't regret it.

I did what I had to do;

I'd do it again.

Each day is a chance

to live life to its fullest --

to improve myself.

I have to thank God,

not only for my new life,

but for my new friends.

LapBandTalk.com,

you're more than just some forums,

you're like family.
