I'm on my 2nd day post-op and I'm in more pain today that I was yesterday. I've been up though and went for a 1/2 mile walk this morning. But when I woke-up this morning it felt like someone had been sitting on my chest all night long. I wonder how much longer this feeling will last? I guess the good news is that I'm not starving for food. In fact I can't even finish a slim-fast. Maybe tomorrow will be better, I'm suppose to go to work tomorrow too, and my classes start Wednesday. I hope some of the pain will ware off by then at least.

Thanks for listening...

I think you should call in sick tomorrow. Rest, take your pain meds and don't push yourself. It takes a few days to feel like you are back to normal.

I agree, reconsider the 1/2 mile walks. Also if you are having a heaviness in your chest it might be gas. Try a heating pad and walking (just not a 1/2 mile at a time). I hope you feel better soon!! I'm a week out today and am back at work.

yeh I had the pain in my chest as well from the gas....it's good to move around but also moving too much will make you hurt even more...so just take it easy, take some meds, and use the heating pad!

Boy do I feel your pain. I also was banded on Friday. I think they put more gas in me than the Good Year Blimp. Whats been bothering me is that the gas seems to get stuck at the band when it tries to come out. Farly painful process.

Thats funny ash, I think I was too, I wasn't as tough as you though, I took liquid Tylenol. I have hives pretty much all the time and when they woke me up from surgery I guess I turned into one big hive! They were pretty concerned but when I came around I was like, oh no it happens all the time, just call me polka dot girl!!! Anyways when I got home and started taking the liquid Lortab my hives were consistenly getting worse. I was taking Flinstones, Lortab, and arnica montana so I started leaving them off one at a time and my best guess is that it was the pain meds!

B-Man

I'm having the same problem as you, I feel like I need to burp all the time and I can't, I just end up swallowing air and it hurts even more!!

I burp a lot, but even worse than that I get the hiccups! Whenever I get hungry I start hiccupping! Sometimes they really hurt! Does this happen to anyone else?

They tell you to walk after surgery, but my doctor said "Stroll, don't stride." I've heard of people ending up with hematomas due to bleeding under the skin from overexertion and walking too strenuously. At this point listen to your body, and anything that hurts, avoid.

I didn't feel better until day 8. Much to my dismay, I missed a week of work, but I'm on day 10 now and I feel like I've turned the corner.

I do, however, get that same urge to burp and it feels stuck. I figured it'll find its way out eventually, all the others did.

My manager made me take 2 weeks off and I am going crazy. I am not a person that likes to lay around and do nothing so I have gone to more stores in the last week than I have in months. I am having a really hard time staying home. I don't feel bad, though and quit taking my nasty tasting pain Syrup 3 days post op. I tried to keep taking it, but almost threw up so I decided that was it. I work in a hospital so I can see why I have to take so much time off, but I am really looking forward to getting back!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.

Lost my Pup last month and struggled really hard for that first month. Stopped tracking intake and slid into old habits here and there. Also quit working out. Can't walk in the neighborhood because of all of the memories we shared. Losing my Pup is the most heartbreaking thing I've ever been through. My Pup was my world 💔
Talked to my doc during my one year followup and they were not worried about my current status. They know, and I know, that I will get back on track.

I'm so sorry. I lost my pup (Mr. Bitters - a chocolate Pomeranian) 2 years ago and it still makes me tear up. He was my everything - my constant companion. I understand. Do the best you can to get back on track.
