My LapBand Book - Need some volunteers

Recommended Posts

Hey, as some of you may know I am writing a book on LapBand as well.

One of the things I really want to have is a lot of inspirational

stories for people to read and pictures of before / during / after.

It is going to be a PDF type book that way people can download it. I

am also setting up a website to have it and other items on it.

I have some stories, but I could really use another 10 - 12 to give

the book more volume along with the pictures. Would anyone here

like to help by sharing their story and photos for the book? Anyone

who helps gets the book before it is published on the web site.

Another thing I would like to do is to have some Audio Interviews to

post on the site. So if you have a mic on your computer and I could

interview you it would be great!

As to the stories, what people want to hear is:

1. Why did you seek surgery?

2. Why the LapBand?

3. How did your surgery go?

4. How are you doing since the surgery?

5. What are some things you have learned about yourself?

6. What are some of the struggles you have had since the band?

7. Would you do it again?

Thanks,

Wade Beasley

As to the stories, what people want to hear is:

1. Why did you seek surgery? Tired of battling my weight

2. Why the LapBand? Did not want my insides cut and rearranged

3. How did your surgery go? Easy

4. How are you doing since the surgery? I have lost -65 lbs and want to lose 20 more

5. What are some things you have learned about yourself? I have a collar bone

6. What are some of the struggles you have had since the band? None

7. Would you do it again? In a heart beat

When you get it done, lets chat. I can feature it on banded.info site.

I am definitely planning on having links to this website as well as others. Another question is, Would people mind if I used their before/during/ and after photos for the inspiration and stories pages?

Thanks,

Wade ;-)

Yes, your story would really help! Can you send me in either a text document or word your story before, during and after along with some pictures? I am about half way with the book. Thanks for helping! You can email it to me at:

I had this idea a year and a half ago. To pull many stories together and maybe help a lot of people. I sat on it instead of making it happen. It would be my pleasure to participate in this project.

Great,

Just email me in word or text format your story with or without pictures. That will make the book that much better!

Thanks,

Wade

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
