Add a Quirk

Recommended Posts

These are fun. Add one quirk at a time. It's funny to read them, and nice to know you aren't the only weirdo around. I'll start!

I won't eat meat that is touching a bone. No chicken wings, no ribs, no t-bone steaks.

Not a 2/08 bandster, but had to add my quirk. I have to have envelopes that I am mailing sorted by length from the shortest to the longest.

I will not eat meat unless I can identify the animal that it came from.........this means I eat pretty much all meat, but will NEVER eat bolgna, hotdogs, or pepperoni, Blech BLech Blech.

Also, I do not mix sweet and savoury. Will never eat cranberry sauce with turkey, or pineapple on pizza, or applesauce on pork........you get the idea.

I won't eat fruit which has a pit. Don't like my teeth touching it.

I used to be incapable of turning around in one direction without, at some point within a few minutes, being compelled to "right myself" by turning around in the other.

I have an unnatural fear of undercooked pork.

And clowns.

Not undercooked clowns, of course, I don't care how they are served, CLOWNS ARE EVIL!!!!

I can't wink one eye without feeling that I need to wink the other eye. It's very strange so I am glad that I do not have to wink very often:wink_smile:

I can't stand socks. Hate. Would wear flip flops through the snow if not for the weird looks.

Girl, I am exactly the same way...as you can tell by my name. I hate HATE hate socks and shoes!! I have like 4-5 different pairs of flip-flops though...lol:rolleyes:

I'm so sorry but I just had the funniest mental picture of someone doing that....LOL No offense but it reminds me of those crazy animals you see on America's Funniest Home videos....LOL:rofl:

Didn't it make you all :rolleyes2:???? I'm sorry I don't mean any dis-respect!! It was just cute.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
