Any liquid you can see through is a clear liquid. Another good one is Isopure clear Protein Drink. 40 g per bottle, 160 calories. It's a GREAT way to get the Protein in. I'm 7 months into this and I keep a huge stock of Isopure (many flavors....) in the fridge. Great for when you need a protein boost. Here's a link.... some GNC's carry it (come in a bottle, doesn't need to be mixed). index

Here's a quick word of warning for something I found out. If you buy the powdered Isopure, IT DOES NOT MIX UP CLEAR. I was lied to about this in the Vitamin Shoppe. I specifically asked the saleslady if it mixed up clear and she said yes. It even says on the container "our Protein is so pure it mixes up clear" and has a picture of what looks like a glass of Water on it. If you read underneath the picture though, it says something like "you may notice that when you mix this powder, it will be cloudy. That's because of all the Vitamins and flavorings we put in it. But the proof is in our bottled drinks!"

Yes, the pre-mixed bottled drinks are clear, but the powder that you mix with Water will not give you a see-through liquid. Oh, and did I mention the taste is gag-inducing? ;) I bought the apple melon flavor and now I'm stuck with a $32.00 jar of it. Anyway, I just needed to get that off my chest!

The operative phrase here is that Isopure clear Protein Drinks do NOT have to be mixed with anything. They come in a bottle, just like a fruit punch. I remember asking my local GNC abouty Isopure and they pointed to the jars of powder and I said Nope....not the same thing. The bottles are clear glass and have a twist off cap. You can get them in cases of 12 or singley.

I am going to banded on Monday at 7am:biggrin:

I have a question that I forgot to clarify with my Dr.

On Sunday, I am on clear liquids only, now I know that consists of sf Jello, broth, sf popcicles etc. but what about Protein? I have the syntax nectar protein drink, is that considered a clear liquid?

Thanks for your help!

I'm having my band on Tuesday morning! What does your doctor have you eating/drinking Sunday?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
