Hi everyone! I'm planning to come too! I know you're not yet familiar with me---I'm fairly new to the LBT site. I'm not yet banded-April 10th!! I am really looking forward to meeting you guys...I can hardly wait to have people to go through this with, and admire those who have already begun accomplishing some goals!

Ummm...I don't have any clothes to share. I'm still wearing them! :)

Turler,

We'll be glad to have you! See you on Saturday!

HI If I decide to come I have clothes from 28-22 I can bring. I'm looking for 18-20 and below. Lots are cute and trendy.

Im2Seksi4MyFat (great screen name!) it'd be great if you decide to come! We'd love to meet you!

Hey ladies, I have a favor! My dh is planning on keeping the kids busy at Polaris while we chat, but last night he asked if maybe he could talk to you guys, too. He said he has some questions about surgery and the entire process that he would love to have answered, and figured you girls would have the answers. Do you guys mind?

I don't think that's a problem at all. :-)

I put together a bag of sweaters, belts (and a few scarfs in case anyone is interested) to bring on Saturday. I haven't completely outgrown much of my clothing yet, but this is a start. :-)

Here are a few optional reminders for Saturday...

-Please bring any clothing you'd like to share with others. I plan to donate mine to charity if no one is interested.

-Please bring a BEFORE photo of yourself. Even if you are not currently banded this is something you can bring. Maybe we can make a photo album and add to it at future meetings (if anyone is game for this)... if you're interested in the photo album idea please bring a picture you can bear to part with, or a photo copy of a picture.

See you SATURDAY at 2pm in the Polaris food court next to the GreatIndoors. Look for the poster and balloon!

Christine,

I hate photos too! I have a few before pics because I wanted to see how far I'd come...or my family had snuck them of me... but not many. I'm usually behind the camera. I wonder if that will change when I get this weight off? To do my "during" photos now is pure torture and I hate every one of them!

I am not doing during photos and no one can convince me that it is a good idea. I really hate having pictures taken of myself, it is awful!! I have lost 57 pounds and I still can not wrap my head around the changes my body has gone thru. Hopefully I will be able to soon!

Christine, that's exactly why I do during photos... it helps me to SEE the changes that my body is going through. Without the photos I look in the mirror and am hard pressed to see the changes. The comparison photos help me to see that progress is really being made. I may hate them, but for me it's something I feel the need to do. Plus I figure that they may help me (not that they have in the past) keep my weight off down the road.

i so totally understand the reasons behind the pictures. I think it is a great tool to use but for me I am not sure I will ever be comfortable in front of a camera. I hope so.

I have a before upper body shot of me I'm willing to share. I don't have many that were full body poses.

I do think we need to take a photo of us as a group on Saturday and when we get together subsiquently, so we can see changes etc. However, I'll respect anyone's desire not to be in the picture. How does that sound?

I have about 4 boxes of slim fast low carb Protein Shakes and one bag of vanilla womans whey from GNC. I can not use either of them because this whole weight loss process has made me lactose intolerant. Can anyone use any of these? I will bring them with me. I have so many clothes to share - size 18-20 that I will have to leave them in the car and anyone who is interested can rumage thru them!! I have both winter and sumer items in that size. Since I have to pass the outlet mall on my way up there, I may take a detour!!

See you all tomorrow!!

I love the photo album Idea, I think it will be so helpful to those making the decision to be banded and to show all our progress along the way. It seems like we are turing into a really movational support group and I love it. Thanks to all of us !!! Maybe we can come up with a meeting schedual for future meeting!!! Looks like we are starting to get organized!!!

Saw my PCP & officially started my 6 month supervised diet 07/26/24. She just told me to eat less carbs & sugar, use the air fryer and not fry my foods in grease, and to try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week & if I can't do that (and I cannot), to walk 10 minutes daily. Told me to walk fast enough that my heart rate is raised.  She didn't give me a number as far as calories though. A year or so ago I was doing low carb/sugar free and keeping my calories at 1800 or below. She said I should up my cals to 2000 at that time, so that's what I'm shooting for now.
Hubby walked with me today. He's in pretty bad shape so I was surprised he wanted to. We walked down the gravel road at a pretty good pace (for us LOL). 10 minutes walking and my heart rate was 115bps according to my Fitbit and 125bps according to his pulsometer. Either way, it was elevated and I was breathing hard. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's a start. We'll do it again tomorrow. 😁
I should be hearing from the surgeon soon. She said if I didn't, to call him next week. Since I HAVE to do the 6 month diet & that's going to put me into January by the time it's done, I'm hoping the surgeon will let me do all my testing in January. I don't want to do it all now and have my deductible get met, only to have to pay the deductible again in January or February for my surgery. Praying that things go the way I hope. 🙏

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.
Consumer Trends and Preferences: Evolving consumer trends and preferences are playing a significant role in driving the alternative sweeteners market. The growing demand for clean-label products, which are healthier and free from artificial ingredients, is offering a favorable market outlook. Consumers are increasingly seeking natural and plant-based sweeteners, aligning with broader trends toward plant-based diets and veganism. Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness. Food and beverage companies are responding to these trends by innovating and expanding their product lines to include options sweetened with alternative sweeteners, thereby catering to changing tastes and health concerns of modern consumers.

Various regulatory bodies are approving alternative sweeteners for use, ensuring their safety and efficacy. These approvals provide food and beverage manufacturers with the confidence to incorporate alternative sweeteners into their products. Additionally, initiatives like sugar taxes in several countries are pushing companies to seek healthier alternatives to traditional sugar.
Furthermore, advancements in production techniques are making some alternative sweeteners more cost-competitive than traditional sugar. Consumers are becoming more concerned about the environmental impact of traditional sugar production and preferring more sustainable alternative sweeteners.
