Jill - good to hear from you! Breast feeding is good for the baby, I lost alot of weight when I nursed. I always lost weight really fast, it takes so many calories to produce the milk, so if you eat normally your body will take all those calories for the milk and you'll lose weight. Have fun on your cruise.

I want to hear about the marine too - details Bman!

Well, no first fill. After about 20 minutes of pushing and prodding and two bent needles later, I have to have fluoro...

I was well numbed, and the NP really tried hard, and was wonderful, but my port is a low profile that is attached to my (apparently very flat and tight) abdominal muscles really well, and it is about 4-5 inches below my skin due to my large spare tire...She just couldn't reach it...

DAMN

Well, ladies, I guess you could say the date went well... it ended this morning at 10:30am. I didn't write back because I never came home.

hehehe

Saturday - Tuesday date.... worked quite well for me! :scared2: haha

I only came home because I had to work. Damn job.

He is home "for good" now... unless he gets sent back on active duty. So, lets hope this nonsense over there ends soon or at least doesn't escalate.

-------------------------------------------

Juicy details.... ha. Actually, compared to last weekend. I was a saint. ha. I actually was introduced to his entire family this weekend. His grandfather embarassed me to death. He thought I was the greatest thing he'd ever seen and he was not to shy to tell my marine that he was an absolute idiot if he let me get away. ha

So, the family likes me... I just have to wait and see if the marine makes up his mind. He sure didn't want me to go home either. So, I like my odds. We are both just taking the relationship thing slow. Neither one of us knows what to call us yet. We both have been married and hurt badly before. So, this time around we are trying to do a bit more "research" before we say anything.

Truth be told. I think all those months of talking and talking... worked. The sneaky man, snuck right into my head and made a comfy spot for himself.

It's not even a lust between us... although, the lust is good (check and double check on that one!) ha --- We are perfectly happy just being in each others company. I felt safe, secure, comfortable, and happy all weekend. I was supposed to be back home Sunday night. Tuesday rolled around and I still wasn't even headed home yet.

He has even put on some of the weight he lost while he was on active duty. He has a gut... hehe. I don't care a single bit. It has absolutely nothing to do with what he looks like. I can't even put my finger on it exactly.

Anyway, there you ladies go. More sappy nonsense than you all ever wanted to know about my weekend. I sure hope this one doesn't end up letting me down. I know he is probably thinking the same thing about me. We both are going to take some time to trust each other. At least he and I are on the same page when it comes to that.

I am still not completely sure about the whole thing. But DAMN I've been waiting for him to screw something up since he started talking to me! haha. I remember telling you all about him WAY WAY back in the day. He is still around.

He told me this weekend that soon enough I will figure out that there is absolutely NO reason to doubt him. sure hope he is right

So, for now the jury is still out on this one. But I had a WONDERFUL weekend.

I do hope so... but I did think that once before. I was certain of it at the time. So, I am trying not to get my hopes up yet. I am taking it one day at a time. :huh2: He makes me happy though.

He called me last night just to make sure I made it home ok. It was at 1:30 in the morning.... so I figure if he is up at that time and is thinking about calling me. Then, I must be doing ok. I HOPE.

-----------------

Working out is going awesome. I am becoming a brick house! I am on the 3rd week with my personal trainer and 4th week of the Couch to 5 K -- I am up to running 5 minutes at a time now without dying! hehe.

I run 4 times a week. about 2.5 miles a pop. So, 10 miles a week. Not to bad.

I am getting much much more fit. Not losing a damn thing, but I am WAY healthier. Much stronger and my stamina is 5 times better than before!

Bman I'm so happy for you. Enjoy falling in love. My dd who just broke up with her boyfriend (almost fiance) has started seeing a new guy and thats what I told her. Just enjoy the time you have together, let all the other stuff work itself out. One of the good things about having had a loser bf, is that now you know what to look out for. ;)

:biggrin2:Yep - 20 days! I'm so flipping excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're just 5 days behind me! WOOfreakingHOO!

A Tummy Tuck is something I could only imagine in my wildest dreams. When my sister had hers done I was so jealous but knew it was something that I'd never be able to afford - at this stage of my life anyway - so when insurance said they would pay for it I was thrilled. Now its getting closer it just feels so surreal, like someone is going to call me and say oops we made a mistake. Pinch me please!

Faith - hon so sorry your fill didnt' go well. I had one fill that I went in for and we ended up going down to xray for fluro. The last one I had the needle was bent at an angle.

Whats up girlfriends? Busy weekend? I didnt' do a whole lot, dh had to work out of town and night shift Saturday so he left around noon and didnt' get home until the next morning. He slept until noon, and was back to bed at 6 - he's too old for this stuff. I went to the movie, the Other Boylen Girl, Scarlett J and Natalie P - it was good but I had read the book so it wasnt' nearly as good as the book. THats the extent of my wild life.

I'm getting a little freaked about my tt. Not about the surgery but about the timing. I wake up at night thinking of all the things that I need to take care of (most of it work related). I don't know if I told you all this since I've been hanging around the Plastics thread, but my youngest daughter who is a senior in high school has her prom on the Saturday after my surgery, which is on Thursday. :smile2: I don't even know if I'll be out of the hospital, dr said to plan on being in 3 days. So she has to go get her hair done alone, and then my daughter in law is coming over when she gets off work to help her get in her dress. It just sucks! I told her if I'm still in the hospital they need to come up to see me. Then the next day, Sunday, she has her athletic banquet. Of course they honor all the seniors. Hopefully I'll be out by then and can be there for her. A week after I have the surgery she has senior night at track, thats when the parents walk out on the field with the seniors and do the little kiss and a flower thing. UGH! I just feel so out of control over this stuff. I know I'm probably making it into more then it is, but thats me, stress over my kids.

The good news is that my oldest daughter, is very happy and seeing a new guy. So thats a load off my mind, after her break up with the other one she was so depressed and I was worried about her. Oh the joys of motherhood. Ok so again on the bright side - I am still totally excited about being a gramma!

Steph--I feel the same way. I am getting overwhelmed with the stuff I need to take care of now as well as the stuff I need to take care of later. I think timing of surgery is never ideal. I know we can handle it. Maybe we need to make a check sheet?? lol...

Glad to hear your daughter is doing better! That is awsome!

Brandi--how is it going girl??

AND btw, I am very weirded out looking at my own face right now! lol....

Hi my girls!

Long time no postie.

Well, I've hit yet another plateau! about 10 more lbs to go before I can go to the dr. to get the TT referral. I just need to get it in gear!

I'm going to try to lose 3lbs a week with bodybugg so it will take me about a month to do 10lbs. not bad. I hope it works! I'm feeling a bit stressed about meeting this deadline. I am supposed to go home to Florida sometime this summer and wanted to be at goal by then.

My husband had another knee surgery on Friday. This one was bad! ACL repair and a manicus repair. He can't put any weight on his foot for 6 weeks! He's off work for 3 weeks and then has to go back. Not sure what he will be doing at work, since he is in aircraft maintenance, they need legs for their job and spend a lot of time on ladders.

I feel out of the loop!

WE went on a 7 night cruise to greece it was amazing. Gorgeous and sunny! I miss the sun. it's been a while since I have seen any. I live in a gray misty fog called Germany. Only 15 more months here. I love it but miss the sunshine.

Brandi- the marine sounds so great. Like a real keeper. I'm so happy for you.

steph- I'm so excited for your TT! Enjoy the last baby going to prom and doing all the senior stuff. mine seems like it was yesterday. It was 8 years ago! crazy.

Boo Boo- Holy hotness! You are beautiful, breathtaking.

Jill-congrats on baby!

Sweethot - so good to hear from you - dont' be gone so long, we miss you!

I miss all of you when you dont' check in. Speaking of which - BMAN - CLAUDIA - VA - where are you girls!??

I got an email from our own dear Nat - she's stressed. Work is killing her and making her stress eat - she said to tell you all hi. She also promised to try to check in but since she can't get on at work anymore its hard to check in at night.

So I'm keeping our thread alive hoping you all start posting again. Love ya girlfriends!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
