A day after my second fill on Jan 8 (now have total of 8ccs in 14cc band), I had my first PB. I was drinking Water and some of it came back. Finally, some restriction! I had another mild PB at lunch today. I had 1/2 bagel and 3/4 cup mashed potatoes. When I ate a second spoonful of apple sauce, it came up. Time to stop eating; finally the dinner bell alarm is sounding. I'm happy that my tool for permanent weight loss has been activated.

:whoo:

Yikes...a bagel? I stay completely away from bread and a bagel is pretty thick. That's probably what did you in. I have not ever had a PB and I am so fortunate. I have read descriptions on here and it doesn't sound fun at all. They say that after a PB you should do liquids for 24 hours. Did you do that? Good luck and I'm glad to hear that you finally have some restriction.

You probably single-handedly ate the WORST thing in the WORLD you could have possibly put in your mouth...a bagel. Not just bread...but thick and doughy bread!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
