Fill doctors in Dallas

Recommended Posts

I'm close to my decision to get banded in Mexico but know based upon my great new friends at LBT that I must find a Dr. locally to do fills. Any recommendations on Dr.s in Dallas, TX? I live in Frisco (just north of Dallas). Thanks!

I use Dr. Fred Maese. He has an office in North Dallas and one in Ferris. I don't have the address right noe, but here is the phone number and the web sight...972-842-8446 (it's hard to get through sometimes)..."Band New Life". Just type that in and it will take you to his web sight with the adresses. He is very good, and the most experienced in his field. I have had two fills and two un-fills and on three of them I have gotten from him (he has a helper too) and I have never had any pain at all when he does it. I had pain from his helper, so from now on I will only have Dr. Maese do mine. I have never had to be numbed with Dr. Maese either. He is wonderfull!!!!!!

I live in Dallas, but since I will be self-pay, I am considering having the surgery in Mexico or possibly another part of the US to save money. Does anyone out there have experience in finding fill/follow-up care in the Dallas area when the surgery was performed elsewhere? I really don't want to have to travel thousands of miles away, especially if I have urgent problems after the surgery.

I'm so excited and nervous. I have a meeting on Monday with Dr. Benavides. I'm going to a seminar he is holding on Saturday, February 19 at 10 am at the Surgery Center, Richardson, 610 North Coit. If anyone else wants to attend, call Melissa Jensen at (972) 331-9500.

I'll keep you posted on my progress! Thanks for all the great support.

I really like Dr Benavides, he has a good "bed side" manner.

I've merged "Fills In Dallas After Surgery Elsewhere" w/this thread as they're asking the same ??.

The important thing is to contact your fill doctor before you are banded and be sure that he/she will accept you. Find out now so you won't be frantically looking for someone to treat you after you're banded.

Best of luck to you!

Way to go Makena2...glad to see your'e making it through. You will find the seminar very informative! Good luck to you! OH...my sister-in-law's sister-in-law (think about that...my brother's wife's brother's wife) is seeing Dr. Benavides very soon, if she hasn't already had the surgery. I intend to get in touch with her and will post anything I find about that Doctor for your info.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
