Lifting Restriction

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine are both having the surgery and we both have little ones that are 21lbs. They say you can't lift anything more than 10lbs so the band won't slip. How do you refrain from doing so for 6 weeks and not pick up your baby? My son is 8 months old and can't walk yet or crawl. Any suggestions?:help:

Hi Katie,

I have 3 yr old twins, and they can walk, but I agree, the restriction is just impossible. I was banded on Dec 5. My son weighs 42 lbs, and my daughter weighs 32. I spent one night in the hospital, and one night on my mom's sofa so that I could get through the worst of the pain. After that, I just did the best that I could. I don't have to lift them constantly, but there are numerous times each day that they fall down and get hurt, or they can't get up onto the toilet, or they're standing in the tub waiting to be lifted out, etc. Anyway, I have healed more slowly than the other folks who were in my cohort at Duke, but I've lost just as much weight. Just be as careful as you can. I'd bring an umbrella stroller inside for the room-to-room toting that you'll be doing all day.

Good luck!

Susie

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
