Does the week leading up to your period f*ck with you, too? I put away the scale until after it is done, I cant even deal with it. I think i am retaining all the fluids I am drinking. I am just frusterated. On a good note, I did get to sleep on my side last night with a pillow for support and I slept MUCH better.

Hi, I'm getting banded tomorrow and I got my "little friend" today... can you tell me if you would have re-scheduled based on that if you were going to do it again? Was it hard to manage it while in pain the days after? Sorry, I'm really worried about it, so I had to ask...

Nope, they will still do the surgery. You get the uncomfortable stretchy underwear and the giant pad. The days afterwards? It wasn't as bad as I thought, had to wear the overnight pads, cause I was spending so much time laying around, but I had band complications too, so the drugs did wonders for me....

Mine is crazy, but the opposite of you. Mine has come twice since having surgery and both times, for the entire week prior to starting I lose weight like a crazy person. Last time it was like 7 pounds. Then I have a week of absolutely nothing! It is maddening to me.

Not sure. I retain Fluid, and hence gain weight. If that's what you mean.

I know exactly what you mean. I've had 2 periods since surgery and I gained 5 lbs the first month and 7 lbs this month:( I has severe bloated feet and ankles so much that it hurt to walk for close to 5 days last montha nd then this month it's my calves...I don't understand that at all...

I'm going to up my Water and I'm thinking about adding a water pill to my diet, but I'm going to ask my doctor at my next fill on the first.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
