7PM

1601 Parkview Rockford 61107

This will be at the College of Medicine. As you enter the campus turn at the first left and come up to the top of the hill. There should be parking available there including handicapped). Otherwise there is also parking down the hill. Come in the door with the red awning and to the left of the entrance there is both an elevator and steps that go to the second floor. You will be in the waiting room of University Psychiatric Services. I will be available by 6:45. Let's meet for about an hour and talk about if the space is adequate and whether or not people want to take turns presenting a topic or just chat each time about issues. Let's see what we need. There is no charge to use this space and we should have plenty of chairs. If you have questions, PM me at this website.

Connie,

Is this for anyone who has had the lap-band surgery?

I really am in need of getting back on track. I did so good the first 6 months after surgery, but the past year have just slacked off. I have gained some of the weight back, but I am determined to lose it again, but sure could use a good pep talk.

I plan on being there on Feb. 18th.

Thanks,

Julie

The group is for anyone who has had any weight loss surgery. I have had the band, but the focus of the group will be on recovery. Connie

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
