TamifromAL 1 Posted January 9, 2008 Great news Tami!! This thread should be fun to read when we are all posting while on pain meds at the same time! LOL Yeah, "I'm not as think as you stoned I am." All I can say is morphine is a wonderful thing. After my first round of plastics in '95, I called everyone I knew to tell them how marvelous I felt after surgery. dum de dum dum....then the meds wore off. nurseamy 2 Posted January 9, 2008 I do not plan on getting an unfill.Of coarse I have not asked about it either(nurses are the worst patients) I love my fill and I do not want to mess with it!!!!

nina874 48 Posted January 9, 2008 Tami - My surgeon hasnt mentioned an unfill, but I would imagine that they will have to do one to replace the port, though thinking about it.......surely once the liquid is in the band it is locked in? If it isnt then it will all leak otu anyway when they disconnect the port. Can you ask them to re-fill you to 1.75 after they have done the switch? I have a low profile now and although I am nowhere near as skinny as you there isnt no sign of my port from the outside. It is about 1/2- 1 inch below my rib cage just slightly to the left of centre. My guy mainly works on post obesity patients so he operates on many that have a band and so far he hasnt mentioned it. Loved you comments on morphine, I too am awaiting the humorous posts!! i am lucky I get to have 7 days worth, though I dont know if i will be able to get online in the hospital! nina874 48 Posted January 9, 2008 Neal - I like the terminology!! I think it will be fun for you being the only man, you wont have to tough it out! LJM - I am sure that you must have misheard!:eyebrows: Seriously there seems to be a lot of conflicting information being given about it. How would they know anyway.........:guess:)
losingjusme 12 Posted January 9, 2008 nina, AND im actually scheduled for a fill Monday. way way too hungry lately. plus i'll need the extra boost when i go mainly shakes for a few weeks.
nina874 48 Posted January 9, 2008 My PS is arranging a fill for me while I am in France, once again great minds, my band people rang today and boy did they get it in the neck! I am having one of those days where I think that it is too close to diet mentality for my liking and that I wish they had explained to me more about the no sauces etc thing. It is frustrating that when I cook low cal food I still cant eat it cos it has a sauce. Ignore me I am just moaning. On a good note it is only 6 days till my pre op, and I fly out of here on Monday so not long now.I just got off the phone from my friend who is having the same op and we have been getting so excited, we are definately both booking to go back in May and have the top half done, boobs lifted filled, arms lipo'd, and the other thought I had is that by then the TT and Lipo from the first op will have settled down so if I want something tweaking he can do it at the same time in May! TamifromAL 1 Posted January 10, 2008 I've been working on my lists of things "to do" and "to buy" before surgery, and found a great list here: Preparing For Your Surgery | Yes They're Fake! Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Network Anyone have anything to add to that list? Tami
losingjusme 12 Posted January 10, 2008 i was steered to this site by a fellow bandster as well Tummy Tuck & Abdominoplasty Information - From Tuck That Tummy! looks like same info, there is also a message board there.
sunsett 2 Posted January 10, 2008 I'm thinking about having a Tummy Tuck one of these days. What are you general charges for this?

ousooner 1 Posted January 10, 2008 My bariatric Dr called back and left a voicemail for me regarding my fill question. I guess the nurse misunderstood me. The Dr said for me not to get a untill after surgery and I am healed. I guess she thought I was asking to get filled prior to the TT. But he did not mention anything about getting an unfill, so I guess that answers my question. lol He did mention that I would probably get tighter post TT. I found that interesteing. The links you guys posted were good, but it would be nice if all PS sights would include a little bit of a male perspective! LOL Even my Dr appoligized for the video she showed and all the brochures were geared towards women.
nina874 48 Posted January 11, 2008 Thats good to know Neal,I am actually getting another fill next week so it would be a bummer to have to take it all out 3 weeks later. Are you getting unfilled because you are at goal? One of the things that I have on my list as I am having loads of Lipo is a childs rubber ring to put on the toilet seat, apparently if they lipo your butt it can be very painful when you sit on a hard surface! How many pressure garments are you all buying?I thought that I would need 2, one in the wash and one on, what do you all think? I suppose it is different for me as I will be relying on hotel laundry services for the first 2/3 weeks. My PS has told us specifically NOT to shave our bikini areas as it is a source of potential infection if we do ( think shaving rash) what have yours all said? I had planned to get it waxed but looks like I will be going au natural!
losingjusme 12 Posted January 11, 2008 I'm getting a fill Monday, we'll see if its a good one. if even slightly too tight I will unfill a tad. im not getting Lipo on my butt, however, I want to get something for the toilet. think of how many tummy muscles you use just to get up! yikes not sure how many garments I'm going to get. Nina, I think I'm with you and will get 2 for now. I plan on wearing one for a good 6-8 months after, so I'll probably end up getting more in a smaller size eventually. I'll need to ask doc about shaving. (sorry in advance Neal) the thing I'm really worried about is TOM comes at the end of the month. my sx is on the 29th... nina874 48 Posted January 11, 2008 I shouldnt think TOM will be a problem,do you (sorry in advance Neal) use tampons? If so I would think that other than you not being entirely happy about the situation,it wont be a problem. Lets face it I am fully expecting to have not a shred of dignity at any stage in the process!!! Oh dear I hadnt even thought about actually getting up off the toilet, oh noooo (TMI WARNING) how are we going to wipe our tushes???? Think of the twisting involved there!!! Thats a grim thought......LOL How come you are wearing the compression garment for so long?
