lbenavides 0 Posted January 8, 2008 I need a pick me up. I am very nervous. I am been having alot of pain in my legs, knees and ankles. My doctor has spoke to me about the Lapband. I am nervous in regards to the insurance denying it. My BMI is only 35, but I am on the verge of becoming a diabetic and have a irregular heart beat. Let's not forget shortness of breath and swelling of legs and ankels. My appoitment is tomorrow with the surgeon. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I don't want to be turned down. My doctor and the stomach doctor said I had a good chance. Can anybody give me a little bit more insight.:help:
Chris61 0 Posted January 9, 2008 What type of insurance do you have? Have you check with them to see what they require. I have an example of a letter that my wife and I used and we were approved with in 30 days. What most doctors and insurance requires is a certian amount of time showing the weights you have, have you tried to loose weight, what medical issues that you have Ie: irregular hear beat, asthama, high blood pressure, sleep apena, pre or diabetic. Knee and leg problems. If you would like e-mail me your address and I will forward you a copy of the letter wwe used. The biggest thing that takes some time is putting together all the weights from over the years together. You can use all the times you went to the doctor, obgyn etc. I was right a 39.5/40.0. I hope that this will help you out. Chris
