I AM BEGGING TO GET HUNGRIER SO I TRY TO EAT WHAT I AM ALOUD TO JUST MORE OF IT AND MORE OFTEN! I WAS A SELF-PAY AND HOPE THAT I WILL NOT REGRET IT! I LOVE TO EXERCISE AND AM LOOKING VERY FORWARD TO GETTING BACK INTO MY WORKOUT ROUTINE! GOOD LUCK TO THOSE ON THE WAITING LIST!

Hi Nikki,

It is great to hear that. I'm being banded next week and was concerned about my energy level and being able to handle going back to work.

Good luck with the rest of your journey.

Jen

Hi Nicki and Jen - I am a teacher and will be banded on a Friday. I am hoping to return to work the following Monday. Do you think this is reality? I have had my tubes tied and was up and doing normal things the next day. I value your feedback.

My doctor kept us home for a week. Keep in mind that everyone is differant in how they react to meds, surgery etc. I had surgery on Wed and was home on Thursdays and a minor thing surgery on Friday slept the whole day and felt great on Sat. So for me it was 3 days. I was up and walking right after surgery.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
