Hi Longhorn & Patty, yes we are band sisters and doing pretty well I think. We will definitely compare notes on our fills Longhorn... I only have 2mls in a 10mls band... I guess that cc's for you guys. I think I need another 2 or 3 mls this time around. Need some real restriction again... willpower is working fine again but restriction helps nudge the willpower !! :whoo::whoo: I'm so ready for my next big weight loss... been the same weight too long.

Wow, Sades, I didn't realize you only had two mls! No wonder you're so hungry! I don't feel like I have much restriction at 4 mls -- I do feel like I get full on less food but still much more than will be required to lose weight. Here's hoping we get a step closer the next time!

Funny how we use ccs instead of mls since they're both metric and therefore "foreign." :D I teach metric conversions in my math classes so I'm a little more comfortable with them than the "average" American. :)

I just had my 4th fill today. I now have 6ccs in my 10 cc band. I definitely feel restriction now. I'm having to drink a lot slower than normal. Hopefully this one did the trick! I just hope it last longer than a week this time. lol

I don't feel so bad now when I say I'm feeling hungry. At the moment it's 90% willpower 10% restriction. Of course the willpower went by the wayside over the holidays. Now that I'm back at work I'm too busy to think about food but the problem is when I get home. I sleep quite late at night so my mind keeps moving towards the kitchen... "now what else can I have??" :D

As far as metrics is concerned, I know we use litres when it comes to petrol and you still use gallons. I was over in the USA in 2006 for 7 weeks and it got a little confusing. We used to use pints and gallons about 30 years ago but we changed it. Same as dollars & cents.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
