Tracyk you look great and SKINNY!!!!

Congrats Judy!

I made the mistake of stepping on the scale yesterday I only weigh on Mondays, so why I weighed yesterday I don't know. I WAS UP 5 POUNDS!!!! I am hoping that tomorrow when I weigh for real it doesn't say that!! I mean really!! Maybe it is the cough Syrup that has 1000 calories per teaspoon! yea that is it!!!

Okay everyone have a great day I am going back on the couch!

Jane

Hey All,

I'm still struggling with not losing but 5 lbs in 3 months. I think the main problem is..when I eat anything *hard* two bites and it lodges or comes back up..then I wait and am very hungry so I eat soft foods. Well those go right down...it's crappy food.< /p>

I found this link...I think it's great so I brought it back for some that might be in the same boat I am.

Hey Violets~

I don't know if this happened to everyone or not, but I got an email from Alex this morning, and I've agreed to be a LBT Moderator! I am excited...I hope I don't do something wrong. I noticed that my avitar says Super Moderator...I did not write that. Did anyone else get asked?

I am leaving here at 5am to go to a base w/ Sus to do her final physicals for her retirement. We'll be gone all day. I'll pop in when I get home!

That really is a great link, gives you a nice guideline for getting back on track, in a realistic time frame. I may well do that.

Not much going on here today. Rick has been hurting, and is grumpy---we got crosswise over the fact that our chimney needs cleaned. He has no business on a snow covered roof! He is not going to pay anyone to do what he has done himself for years. Stubborn.....omg!

Everyone around me is sick, I have fought it off, it sneaks in, and I feel crummy, then battle it back---I am so tired of feeling yucky. I do not want to be super sick to get it over, I just want to be well!!! But because I am not as sick as all of them...they think I feel wonderful! My Mom told Becky she was bringing dinner, then she got sick too, and wanted me to do it. I told her Gary is fine, he can cook, he doesn't work (medical disability)--I am not taking dinner in for the entire family, when her husband, her son, his fiance will all be eating, and they are as well as I am! She got put out with me (Mom) because she felt bad not keeping her word...good grief Becky understands, she feels crappy too! So Mom reminds me she brought dinner in for us when I was sick....so?....you were well, Rick works 12 hours a day, and there is only 2 of us here. It is not comparable!

So Rick is coming home, and he was going to bring home some Churches chicken, I called Mom and ask if she wanted him to take some out there---she said no Becky said she was just going to go to bed, and let the crew fend for themselves. And Mom agreed, like she had never heard the idea before....frustrating!!!

Sorry to come here and just complain!!!

Guess I will go make Rick's lunch for tomorrow, and call it a night.

See y'all tomorrow!

Kat

Morning gals

Pam - I was asked too, but have not responded.

Kat- that is just so horrible about Rick's little accident, I hope he feels better soon - he needs to suck it up and just pay someone to clean the snow just 1 time. HUGS

Well, I have a crazy day too... going to drink some coffee

Good morning violets-

A 3 day work week for me:w00t: my last day is Wednesday and I do nt go back until next Tuesday (my b-day) but we are celebrating our anniversary and my b-day this weekend.

I have been self sabatoging myself over the past week. I had gotten back up to 177. :scared2:That is that 'fear' of being 'normal' I told you all about. I guess I am trying to go back to my old ways. I am having a brain/heart struggle. But, I have gotten back on track and have lost 2 of the 4 pounds I have gained. I will do it, I am just scared and trying to fight off the "fat girl" demons that are imbedded in me.:)

I hope you all have a great Monday!

Oh....Macy update-she is still fever free so she will be going to daycare today (which really scares me). Keep your fingers crossed!

Gooooood morning, Violets.

Jenn...today is your day! Can't wait to hear about the new job.

TracyK.... I was doing the same thing a couple of weeks ago and I just had to put my food down and close my mouth. I was eating just to be eating. Not hungry at all. Those habits are hard to break for sure, but look how far you have come. You didn't do that by constantly breaking the rules. You can do this!! You'll definitely be at goal for our get together! Let's both kick butt, k?:)

Pam... I was asked to be a moderator too, but I think I'll pass. I am tied down to this computer enough as it is. I tend to be an overachiever and I'd probably end up being on here 24/7 and the Bobster would not be pleased with that!

Ethan will be here in a little bit for the day. I also have a meeting with someone from the personnel committee at the church at 3:30 to discuss some problems with the minister that replaced Bob. Should be interesting.

We are under a winter storm watch for tomorrow. Supposed to get 4-6 inches. I didn't do the hot tub last night cause it was -20 with the wind chill. I woulda froze my tushie off before I could get it in the hot Water.

I'm off to get my Breakfast and then wait for Ethan. Everyone have a great day. I'll check back later.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
