I tried to make a new ticker because I am trying the 10% thing, but it is not working to put it on here. Is this something somebody can do for me? I am obviously not computer friendly enough. I think my text should be purple though! I think I changed that, guess I will see in a minute!!

Have a good one!!

Looks like I need to go spend the day with Jane and give her a crash course on computer stuff. LOL

Up and getting ready to start my long day.

I go into work, leave there and go pick Sis up and take her to a Doc appointment. Than take her to the store. Take her home and than I leave to go to KS to my Doc visit. No fill for me today, just need to quit putting things into the abyss. Than over to my friend that lives a few miles from the Doc's office. I'll get home around 7pm tonight.

Eveyone have a great day and I'll talk to you later.

Be Good.

Good Morning, Violets..

I'm up waiting for Ethan to arrive. We have snow on the ground that isn't leaving anytime soon. Some parts of Michigan are supposed to get up to a foot of snow today. Thank goodness, we are not one of them! But Ethan and I will have fun outside today.

Hope PamELa has figured out her computer problems and can get on here today. I'm not that good at texting and it takes me forever to get one typed and sent!

I'm taking my friend to her radiation treatment today and then I have nothing in the works til rehearsal this evening at 7.

I'm going to go fix an egg for Breakfast and wait for Ethan. Will check back later...

Well shoot.. why do they offer that kind of stuff if it doesn't work????? Guess I'll just keep punching in color and size of font each time I post. It HAS to be purple and it HAS to be BIG enough for PamELa's little eyeballs to see.

Hey V's~

Man, I am glad I found you. I thought you all received Judy's cryptic message and I was left out! LOL, I don't know what the prob was...could not get on since yesterday morning! I texted Judy and TracyK in a panic (haha)

Yesterday, I slept until we went to Susanne's game! They won 10-4...still undefeated! Then we went to Chinese w/ Jackie and Melissa (the brides). I did great, only ate 1 of the Moo Shu Pork thingys...they give you 4! So I have one 1/2 for lunch and dinner.

Susanne is going to Phoenix for the week! She is gonna visit w/ her mom which is good. I will miss her, but I am really glad she can enjoy this time now.

Jane~ The cut is $60, the color is $80, I bought a Bumble and Bumble product (the entire store is Bumble and Bumble), and that = 168! Plus I paid a $20 tip. It is an upscale salon in downtown Palm Springs. So, the price is part of the location as well. But, I look fabulous!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Love you...and am glad I found you again!

We're in this together.. I have been stuck at 178-181 for almost a year. Now THAT's the pitts! I am fine on eating the good food. Can only manage a few bites and I'm full or it's stuck. It's the crap that goes down so easily that I have struggles with. I am a junk food/sugar addict. I can't imagine what my weight would be if I wasn't exercising every day. But it's not the band's fault!!!

For breakfast I had 1 egg with 1 slice cheese and 2 peach slivers. It's sitting there in my throat and going down very slowly. DS Joe doesn't have any work yet today so Ethan isn't here. Hopefully I can get some more clothes bagged up before he comes (if he comes). I need to figure out where the Christmas tree is going this year too. We got a new second couch this year and that takes up the room where the tree usually is. hmmmmmm conundrums, conundrums...

Morning girls!

What a busy weekend it turned out to be! No matter how empty I tried to keep my schedule I still managed to fill it right back up and not get any rest.

So we went out Friday night and came home pretty late. Well, I ended up waking up super early Saturday. Did some stuff around the house, then my sister called and asked me to meet her for breakfast. Then we went to the mall for awhile, then she wanted me to go grocery shopping with her. Then I came home and crashed and took a loooonnng nap and woke up like at 1:30am. So then I just started piddling around the house. Didn't go to sleep until 5am again.

Woke up around 9am so we could go to breakfast and then to church. Then my mom called and asked if we wanted to go to a BBQ that a friend of hers was having. Fine, so we went to the store so I could buy stuff to make a brocoli salad. I don't like arriving empty handed... Then my sister called and said that one of her friends got sick and couldn't go to the MADONNA concert and would I like her ticket. HECK YEAH! So we went to the BBQ for awhile then I ran home to throw on something decent to wear and we take off...

SHE STARTED TWO HOURS LATE. OMG, we sat there and sat there. She finally started, it was an awesome concert. Ended at 11:30 and finally made it home around 1:30am. Was worth it though!

My diabetic dog has been whining for Water at odd hours of the night. I need to go get her glucose level monitored again. We might have to increase her insulin level.

off to get my coffeeeeeee....

Sometimes reading the posts here make me wonder if some people just weren't mentally ready for WLS and needed more time with the bariatric team psychiatrist. Complaining about the limited drink/food choices early on... blah..blah...blah. The living to eat mentality really needs to go and be replaced with eating to live. JS

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
