Ever feel like there is a HUGE WHITE ELEPHANT in the room and NOBODY is talking about it? I do:frown:

I like to talk about things that make me happy. Laughter, fun, and supporting each other as friends. Being there for each other no matter what. That is what is important. That is what makes us special. THAT is what makes us violets!

Good morning.......

I ate way to much yesterday.....

Run down of other things:

I'm seeing a doc today about happy pills

Robby is seeing a counselor tomorrow about his behavior

Charles and Cody are going scout camping this weekend

Monday, Robby has dr appt for his behavior.

Monday, after dr. he has his first wrestling meeting

Tuesday @ 1 I have my mammogram

Whew.........

scale: 186.4 this morning

OH and one of my Leather and Lace girlfriends sent me this gettup to lift my spirits about the mammogram, I had to model it for ya!

Tracy... how did it go today?? Did the doc prescribe meds??

I'm anxious to hear what the counselor and doctor say about Robby and how they can help. You're doing all the right things for you and for Robby. I'm proud of you!!!

Hi All - Pammy sent out the flying monkeys and they found me.

I just had my feelings hurt (and NO, it wasn't the stupid election!!!...give me a little more credit than that please!) but I have to learn to swallow my stupid pride and just move on. Ever get like that? I do, and way too often.

So please forgive me for my little tantrum. I love you all.

*********

Sitting here drinking coffee in the freakin' middle of the night practically. Anyone else having trouble with this time change? I normally don't even notice it, but man I've been having trouble sleeping ever since then!

I've got the day off today and a very empty cupboard. I really should be creating a menu for the weekend and preparing my list. One problem with that is that implies that I will be cooking! Ugh, I hate to cook!! Sounds like a crock pot day, eh? Anyone want to make a suggestion of what to put in it???

I had yesterday off too...and a bare cupboard...and you would not believe the crap I ate all day! I surprised even myself. Carbs are so evil. Y'know when you don't have any groceries in the house, that's what you tend to eat...stuff out of the pantry (= carbs!) I grazed like a cow all day. Just proves once again that carbs are good for nuttin' except making me hungry in an hour.

Well, I guess I'll go refill my coffee cup and enjoy the dead quiet outside. Even Hero is sleeping!!

Good Morning Girls.

Sitting here watching the news and they are calling for snow tomorrow. Just slightly, a dusting. Yikes.

Terri, Glad to have you back. We missed you. I know what you mean about having your feelings hurt. It's happened to me and I just needed to give myself a kick in the butt and get over it. I tend to hold things in and they sit and fester. I just have to stop being a brat and realize people don't always see things my way. That's what makes us all special. Even you.

TracyKS, What did the doc have to say?????? Maybe a day with Jane and Suzie is all you need???????LOL?????? Sure you and Robby can't go with us?

Denise, Have a safe weekend and we will miss you.

Off to work for 6 hours. I'll be back around noon.

Hugs to you all.

Morning Ladies~

ALL IS RIGHT IN THE WORLD!!:tongue2::tt2::lol:

We went to the street fair last night and I split a nacho apetizer and had 1/2 a large margie...that is impressive for me. I of course didn't mention that I did help kill a basket of chips and salsa...but those are a "freebie" right? haha!

I am soo glad it is Friday! I have a sore throat and I know it is just from getting run down. I've already made the big announcement..."I am not doing anything Sat. except homework". She will go to the commisarry (sp) (military grocery store), and get her hair cut. So I will have some serious homework time. She will be traveling an hour to the commissary! Anyhoo...this is good for me!

Everyone have a great Friday! I am just very happy and peaceful!

Morning girls...

I have the worst worst headache ever. Ugh. I should have taken today off but had too much to do...

Last night was wonderful. And so exciting to see all these famous people. We were not mingling with the A or B or even C crowd, LOL but they were within throwing distance. We didn't sit on the floor of the center but on the first row on side of the floor, which afforded us an incredible view of everyone and of the stage.

So many great acts in one show. I'll never be able to top it!

Oh, worst part of the night though...

We took tons of pics! Of us mostly cuz they didn't let cameras inside. Afterwards we were headed to a late dinner when my cousin decides she wants to hang halfway out the moon roof. Well she had the camera in her hand and for whatever reason the limo had to break hard and swerve and in a panic she let go of the camera as she held on for dear life... Nice...

We were so upset... so we drank tons of margies to soothe our pain, lol.

It was an incredible night and I felt like such a princess. I never would have wanted to go to something like this when I was bigger so I'm so thankful for the band and for your support on here that got me to where I am now. I felt so NORMAL and so pretty in my long gown. Didn't give a rat's ass about my bat wings showing!

Okay, i'm off to get my morning cup of joe so I can try to wake up from this fog I'm in.

Good Morning, Violets...

I got up at 7 to let the garage dog out.. (she sleeps on the floor by our bed at night now) and stopped to read the posts. Terry.. glad you're back. We missed you. But then when I went back to bed I had the weirdest dream about the Violets. I went to the dentist which is a long story in itself about a new dentist with cowboy boots and then I went to make another appointment and ended up at a chinese restaurant and there were Michelle, Pam, Kat and TracyK. I was so suprised to see them and we had a good visit, but then when we were leaving, it dawned on me.. (I'm a slow study), that here they were in Alpena and I didn't know they were going to be there. Michelle was heading back to Chicago and she had had her eyebrows done and cost her $2.50 They were long and curly..... eyebrows!!! Kat told me there had been posts about the meeting, but they were written cryptically. I started to walk home being really upset and then realized my car was back at the restaurant. Then I woke up. Weird, weird, weird!!!

I didn't get up again until 9:30. Ethan comes at noon for the rest of the day.

Everyone have a good one. Will check back later.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
