hi hi hi hi!!!

((((jane)))) you're in our prayers. Hopefully this is all over soon. We love you!

Tracyks - oh that must have been so hard for you with Robby on Friday. You're such a good mom though for sticking to your guns. Hopefully he'll remember that feeling of not being able to participate next time he goes to act up. You really are a really good mom, I hope you know that...

Laura - was the roast and the juices spicy? It sounded really really yummy!

TracyK - Macy looked sooo cute! She's definetly cut out to be a princess! How was the zoo? I haven't been in like 20 years!

We had a great time Friday night. Yes I put on my costume, not really sure what I was supposed to be but I did scare little kids, LOL. After work I stopped by 3 different drugstores to try to find some fangs and fake blood but the shelves were bare. I teased my hair, rubbed some black eyeshadow all over and was done. We had so much fun! Here's a pic...

Here's a pic from sat night...

Haydee: Your beauty takes my breath away!!!!!!!!! and the dancing pic is nice too!

DO NOT FREAK OUT at what I’m about to tell you………..

My cell phone just rang and it was the hospital. I had a mammogram a week ago, the radiologist read it and now want to recheck both breasts as they see area’s in both that are of concern.

My last mammo was in 2005, so there could be a lot of changes since then (namely losing 100 lbs).

But I will tell you all this right now…….. If I do have cancer they will BOTH be coming off. I really think it will be fine. I am sure it is that I wore deodorant and the weight loss.

I have my follow up Mammogram on Friday 11/07/2008, @ 11:30 (11:15 a.m. check in).

((Tracy)) keep us posted!! Hopefully it's just cysts or something!

Haydee you looked super cute. I never did find my pirate costume, and about 15 minutes after handing out candy I changed into jeans & pumpkin t-shirt.

Just got back from the gyno, took them a while to find the heartbeat, so I was getting nervous.. guess the nurse could tell cause she was going 'it's a little heart, it can be hard to find sometimes, don't worry!'. When she finds it, she always gives me this big sly smile that makes me feel akward--like I'm suppose to cry tears of joy, and my smile isn't adequate enough.. anyway.

Normally it's been 150-160 bmp, which according to an old wives tale means it's a girl. Today it was 140 bmp, which according to old wives tale is a boy. My next appt (Dec. 8) they do the anatomy thing, and tell me if it's a boy or girl!! So excited. I told them DH doesn't want to know the sex, but he wants to be there for that ultrasound, so she was saying there's a slight chance he would be able to tell from the picture.. but I've looked up pictures of how they tell and it took me a lot of effort to figure out what I was looking at. Even little girls have 3 ball looking area, so I am fairly confident Russell will have no idea what he is seeing. Regardless, I will just tell the technician when to tell him to look away. Their parking is so bad, it's 2 small parking lots, that always fill up. I drove around 15m with no luck, so I finally illegally parked on a curb. I crossed my fingers I didn't get towed.. luckily I started a trend, a lot of people were parked on the curb when I came out, whew.

They also looked at the rash on my back, she didn't want to touch it, she thinks it's ringworm. My GP thought it was ringworm and put me on meds, I did it for 2 weeks with no change so I stopped. She told me to try another cream.. Lotrimin I think. Doesn't both me though!

She made a comment about my weight gain that made me want to melt into a puddle and hide. I know I'm gaining too much, I told her how I feel and I'm so hungry all the time. She said it's the progesterone, and asked if I should see a nutritionist.. no not really, it's not like I don't know how to eat.. she asked if the banding folks told me how to eat well-- yes, yes they did. It's not ignorance, it's.. will power. So whatever. Today Russ goes back on Atkins, I'm going to make a point to cut out sugars that aren't naturla (re: fruit). No more candy, cookies.. blah blah. Brought all my leftover halloween candy to work today, they betta eat it!

Ok have a good one ya'll!

Laura - I miss your doggie in your avatar. "What?!" LOL Well, the doc may be an ignoramous when it comes to obesity issues, but at least she gave you a REASON why you're so hungry and validated that it's not just all a big head issue! Maybe it will settle down after a bit. How's your energy level these days?

TracyinKS - ((Hugs)) dear. Sorry about the issues with Robby. Does he play sports? Wonder if the influence of a team and/or coach would help shape his attitudes. Thanks for asking about Hero -- he's doing great!

Jane - Extra ((((HUGS)))) to you today! I hope its all over real soon. I hate to think of you being so upset.

Haydee - loved the costume! Looks like ya'll had a wonderful weekend!

Kat - We'll miss you sumpin' awful!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
