Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here

That's funny, Laura!

Also... weird dream! The only part that made sense to me was the potty part... whenever I dream that I need to go potty but for whatever reason can't go in my dream (can't find one, found one but it's gross, or doesn't have a door, etc.) that means that I REALLY have to go in REAL life... it's like a signal to myself or something... & that I'd better wake up & go. Funny.

Yeah, I can completely see Pam w/a fancy bellhop... I bet she has one just for her CLOSET!!

Off the the 2nd volunteer orientation, followed immediately by the 1st PTA meeting... ack!

Hey Violets~

Another great day! Remind me of my happy go lucky stance when I am in the throws of it! Yes Judy, NCLB ruined a lot about education...and for what? Don't get me started. The chillren mus lern!

I've been having a bowl of (LOL, I typed bowel at first) of Kashi Go Lean in the am. I really like that Cereal. It is good, has Protein and Fiber. I need to pour the milk about 20 min before I sit down to eat it though, lol...hard to get that down in the am. We (the 6th grade team) has lunch at 10:30 am! That is sooo early. Last year it was at 11:30. I really like it cause I am ready to eat at 10:30. The cereal only holds you a bit (well, about 3.5 hours which is pretty good). Then at 2pm, I have a small snack and then am ready for dinner. So far so good!

OK...gonna go do Walden. I meet w/ the statistician (sp...lol, I suck at spelling) on Sat. am for dissertation. I am ready to get that puppy finished!

Can't wait for BB. I'll go to bbchatter at 5:30 pm PST and find out who leaves, then again at 6pm for the new HOH. I figure I've waited long enough, don't need to go 3 more hours.

Have a great night!

Just got back from dinner with my musician buddy.. went to Applebee's and I had the shrimp & spinach salad...mmm.. it is SO good.

Came home, and 'the curious incident of the dog in the night-time' came in today..woohoo.

Going to start reading that tonight. I gave Water for Elephants to my granny to read (she loves reading, we also exchange books). She called me at work today all excited, she said yesterday morning she sat down with the book and coffee.. she didn't get a single thing done yesterday because she said she could not put it down. I was the same way, I took it with me to Walmart lol. She said it's been a while since she had a book she couldn't stop reading.. so hopefully this one is good too and she'll like it.. but I think she got a kick out of the descriptions of the old people in the elephant book :tt2:

Man, I bought that Water for Elephant book and can't stand it! I am on page 6 and it sucks so far. What am I missing? Everyone loves it. It is old people at a circus? Does it pick up? In all fairness, you all know I am in the middle of a few books. Help...does it pick up?

I came on here to say something...can't remember what now.

Be back when I remember.

The site did that to me too Jenn, logged me off and started me back a hundred pages or so.....too wierd.

Rick got called out, so he just left, his folks come over, and stayed for some ribs----thank goodness I cooked extra everything! They come to see his shop, and his Dad loves ribs---especially when they are ones he can chew!! And with me needing everything tender, mine are fall off the bone tender! We had a nice visit, with just us and no outside sniping we all do fine, I love them to no end----but she listens to every little snide remark out of her DD's and I have my fill of that pretty doggone quick!!!

Rick's sister in Denver is wanting this huge garden tea party theme for her Mom's 80th birthday. Which is fine, I am all for the that. But she has it planned for the afternoon of the 13th....and she is getting in about noon on the 13th, and will be here for the party, then we have reservations at a friends Mexican restaurant, for a family dinner to seat 40 people....then Breakfast at a big buffet place on the 14th and they are leaving from the restaurant. So that leaves all the planning, decorating, and of course buying of everything to his sister that lives here and us. She actually said something to the effect that they have the expense of travelling here----like that is our fault! We do everything for them, but we also get the pleasure of evenings like tonight as well. But I am out several hundred bucks for a party she will take all the credit for!

We have a roll of white picket fence to go around the main table, and 2 tall cupcake towers. The cupcakes all will have flowers and are done in Pansy shades, of blue and purple. We also bought a bunch of floral swags, and are draping each corner, and around on the ceiling tile, to make it garden-y. And each table will have a floral arrangement done in a china tea pot. We are using the tea cups to hold mints and nuts on each table with the tea pots. We have paper lace doilies to go under them all in a really pretty periwinkle blue color. And I found a really pretty picture frame set that looks like it is china with the pink roses on it---3 5X7 frames----so we are putting a picture of her as a small child, her senior picture and one of them recently on the side board.

Rick is leaving for a class on Sunday and will not be back until Friday night, so even he will not be here to help out....figures!

I know she will be thrilled to have her entire family together again though, so I will do what I can.

I was all ready to go buy the Elephant book, until Pamela's post----let me know how it goes Pamela, I too have to be hooked quickly!!! And I read fanatically!

But I have no idea who is on the home page, I don't see anyone in a green shirt.

Had my ribs for dinner, and some fresh green beans----which were AWESOME! But now I want ice cream.....so am having a serious talk with myself!! I am comfortable now, anything else and I will be miserable!!! I wish Rick would just finish eating the dang stuff and I would be all good if it wasn't around! LOL I KNEW it was his fault somehow!!!

I am going to go get his lunch ready for tomorrow, and think about soaking in a hot tub.......but I might fall asleep in there!!!

Will catch y'all in awhile!

Kat

Terri that rosary was gorgeous!!! You are so talented...the only talent that I have is that I type fast LOL.

Laura I had the WEIRDEST dreams when I was pregnant...both times actually.

Tracy - I feel fat too...I saw a glimpse of 199 and now I'm back at 201. :tt2:

Saw my PCP & officially started my 6 month supervised diet 07/26/24. She just told me to eat less carbs & sugar, use the air fryer and not fry my foods in grease, and to try to walk 30 minutes 3 days a week & if I can't do that (and I cannot), to walk 10 minutes daily. Told me to walk fast enough that my heart rate is raised.  She didn't give me a number as far as calories though. A year or so ago I was doing low carb/sugar free and keeping my calories at 1800 or below. She said I should up my cals to 2000 at that time, so that's what I'm shooting for now.
Hubby walked with me today. He's in pretty bad shape so I was surprised he wanted to. We walked down the gravel road at a pretty good pace (for us LOL). 10 minutes walking and my heart rate was 115bps according to my Fitbit and 125bps according to his pulsometer. Either way, it was elevated and I was breathing hard. Doesn't sound like a lot, but it's a start. We'll do it again tomorrow. 😁
I should be hearing from the surgeon soon. She said if I didn't, to call him next week. Since I HAVE to do the 6 month diet & that's going to put me into January by the time it's done, I'm hoping the surgeon will let me do all my testing in January. I don't want to do it all now and have my deductible get met, only to have to pay the deductible again in January or February for my surgery. Praying that things go the way I hope. 🙏

Factors Affecting the Growth of the Alternative Sweeteners Industry:
Health Consciousness: The increasing awareness among individuals about the health issues linked to high sugar consumption, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases, is supporting the market growth. Consumers are becoming more health-conscious and seeking products that can provide sweetness without the negative health effects associated with sugar. This shift in consumer preferences is leading to a greater demand for low-calorie and natural sweeteners like stevia, monk fruit, and erythritol. These sweeteners offer the added benefit of having minimal impact on blood glucose levels, making them suitable for diabetic and health-conscious individuals.
Technological Advancements: Innovations in the production and formulation of alternative sweeteners are impelling the market growth. Advancements in biotechnology and food science are leading to the development of high-intensity sweeteners with improved taste profiles and functional properties. Innovations in fermentation processes enhance the production efficiency and quality of natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit. These technological improvements are making alternative sweeteners more appealing to both manufacturers and consumers. Enhanced stability, solubility, and sweetness intensity allow these sweeteners to be used in a wide range of products, ranging from beverages to baked goods.

Besides this, there is an increase in the demand for low-calorie and sugar-free alternatives that support weight management and overall wellness.
