Jen-you go girl!!! I think you are making a great start for 2008---you have a whole new attitude to go with your new look! I think in a matter of months, by the time we take off for SA---know one will know what to expect out of you!!! They will be seeing a new, strong, take no crap Jennifer. I also predict, it will be an awesome thing for your DD to watch, and while it may confuse and even irritate some, it will only impress her!!! Get 'Em Girl!!

Denise---you definitely don't look anything like my Grandma's looked when I was a kid!!! Quite often even I get confused for Kinsey's Mom, I bet you end up getting that ALL the time!! You look so good! The smile says it all, you look happy, and a good 10 years younger!!! I love the bell sleeved sweater btw!!!

BBL---phone!

ok gals, i'm going to have dd take a pic later before I go to work so you can see my hair and new mid rise boot cut levi's

BTW. Walmart now carries Levi's "signature" they fit just like regular levi's and what... only $20 vs the $30 I just got them for "on sale" at jc penny. Since we have lots of levi's fans I thought i would share.

Kat, I want court to be over but.... I am done, I just can't take the mental shit anymore. Not saying I'm perfect yet but I will be. And I need a new job, I need to be away from food I think I can start loosing again if I don't pick, I don't do it much but enough to keep me from loosing

Just got home from bringing macy to the dr. She doesn't have strep....she has the FLU! They did a throat culture on her that made her gag of course then she looked at me and said "momma I need to throw up" OMG we barely made it to the bathroom and out it all came. Poor baby. They did not give her any meds and said it just has to run its course and she may run fever for 5-6 days (my boss is gonna love that one, but, screw him). They said if she is still running fever next Friday to bring her back in for blood work.

Thanks for all the well wishes for her!

I gotta run....

Tracy - that poor little thing. It almost would have been better with strep, at least antibiotics could have helped her feel better. give her lots of love (I Know you will, you are such a good mom)

Tracy~ Sorry to hear about Macy!:) Purple Power for a speedy recovery!

Denise~ My God woman...you look amazing! Granny my ass! I agree w/ Susie about the exercise. The scale is still 249.8...not moving at all and I've worked out tons. I need to keep watching the food (been a bit over indulgent the last 2 days) and I will keep exercising...and hopefully in a few more weeks, the scale will reflect the hard work I've been doing!

You look smokin hot mama!

Well, MIL is here. We are home from the casino (lost 30 bucks) and the buffet and we are gonna see Bucket List later! Lookin' forward to it! It is an EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful day here...65, blue skies and bright sun! Maybe next winter, ya'll can come here. This is a huge resort destination after all. Something to think about!

Jenn~ I liked the old you just fine. But I must say the new "kick ass" Jenn is a hoot! Take no prisoners honey! I've been in your shoes ($ wise). Go get your boot scoot boogie on and have fun! Everything will work out. Love ya!

Have a great day everyone!

Just popping in for a minute to give a mcay update. At 5:00 PM she had 104.2 fever. :) I feel so horrible for her. DH watched her for a couple of hours while I took a nap so I can take the night shift. When I woke up I realized how high her fever had gotten. Made me feel guilty for taking a nap.

I will check back in later...

Pam

this is really just the old me coming back... with a vengence. I was never this bold but just done. I cashed in $28 in change. 3 drinks and a cover charge. LOL I just need to get out there is all.

TracyK- are you alternating motrin and tylenol? every 2 hrs motrin... 2 hrs tylenol... and so on... it will help... my dr told me to do that when ds had a high fever. ds had coxsocki virus which is flu/strep combined with horrible blisters so he wouldn't drink. they told me 1 medicine dropper of liquid every hour was enough to keep him hydrated - we almost were hospilized... make sure she drinks enough... :) poor thing

well... going to straighten my hair

I used to work in the Pediatric ICU and we rotated the tylenol/motrin every 2 hours as well when a child had a fever that we had a hard time breaking. Also, cool bags of liquid under their armpits and groins...depending on their age and how sick they are would depend on if we got away with that :)

Yep we always alternated too-------and in the hospital they ALWAYS gave Kinsey popsicles anytime she would eat them!

Poor little thing---prayers are being sent!

If she feels up to it, you can give her a bath....but don't make it cool, make it warm enough, not to shock her, it is the evaporation after the bath that reduces the temp.

I also used to give my kids a wet washcloth to play with. And let the girls play with their Barbies in a basin of Water, the water would cool, and help with the fever----and they loved it.

Tracy, I will be thinking of you! If you get too concerned, take her to the ER---take no chances!

Big Loves to all of you!

Kat

OMG Denise I give you so much credit... I hated being in hospital seeing all those poor sick babies... not to mention my own. I just don't freak out anymore, I'm much calmer.

I'm hanging waiting for my friend to pick me up. I will walk home later but it is only going to be 13 tomorrow so I know I am not going to want to walk down to get my car.

My step brother's fiance just got out of jail 6 months ago, she was working a wedding(they have dj business and limo's) and she had "1" beer and hit a 17 year old (of course one of my long time friends nephew) and killed him. It was horrible being on both sides of that situation but I won't even have a sniff of a cap and drive. I have had a glass of wine at work and hitched a ride home.

Too cold for walking

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
