kity 2 Posted September 13, 2008 Life is funny! We had a nice turn out go to the movies today. The movie was great and the vibe was greater!!! Then Susanne, Steph and I went to eat and then to Coldstone...GETTING A FILL NEXT THURS. Anyway, Sus and I are driving home talking about how blessed we were to have such great friends, and a beautiful life, blah blah blah...and how glad we were that Beth could go to the movies too. She has twin 7 year olds so she doesn't get to do too much w/ us. I was talking about going on Facebook and telling her how glad I was she came. Well... We get home and get a call from Cathy. Cathy and Beth are probably my dearest "real life" friends. Cathy said she was on her way to Beth's house...she had been robbed. The house was ransacked!!! Stuff was everywhere. Ready for this...someone took a poo in her bidet! Well, this is the silver lining. Beth's dh comes home and notices a truck in their drive way. He pulls up behind it (blocking it...so they couldn't get out). We walks up to the door, and notices it is hanging by the frame (they kicked it in). As he walks in, he sees his back door close cause I guess someone was the "lookout". The TV (flat screen) and computers were in the process of being taken out...being placed by the back door. They had a huge backpack full of all their checks and check books. Jewlery was taken and thrown about. Thank God the kids were w/ friends. Anyway...we went over and started cleaning. Long night and scary for our friends here and in Texas. I am watching now...God girls...stay safe! Have a good safe and secure night.

Suziecat 379 Posted September 13, 2008 Terry, So good to hear from you. Hopeing that you stay safe till Ike is gone. I'm keeping all of you in my prayers. Pam, That is awful. Your poor friends. Rain, Rain, Rain and Rain somemore. We aren't getting pelted like Texas but it has rained for 2 straight days now and it's still supposed to rain all day today and into tomorrow. It's so humid and sticky. I'm up early because I have to work this morning. I don't have to go in till 8am so that's good. No 6am like rest of the week. Big Texas hug to all my Girls down south. Hang tough.
kity 2 Posted September 13, 2008 WOW Texas girls...good to hear from you Terri!!! Anyone hear from Haydee. I also don't want to call her, but just hoping everyone is safe w/ minimal damage to their properties. ((hugs)). We went to bed so late and Sus woke me up at 6am to go for a bike ride! I bought a bike a few weeks ago. Soooo, I was up in tennis shoes and out the door at 6:25. We went around a big block...man I am out of shape. The worst part is the, um...how shall I say this...MY V-JJ IS SCREAMING!!! That hurts soooo bad. I got a cool gel seat, but that does nothing. I need to ride the bike everyday for a short bit to get "her" used to it. Anyone know what I am talking about? The whole area feels bruised! She came home w/ me and then downtown about 5-6 miles one way to check our mail! Rock on Susanne...I am gonna check my Violets and drink some coffee. Have a good Sat. Prayers to our Texas girlies! Where is Michelle...did I miss something???

Teachlady 3 Posted September 13, 2008 Good Morning, Violets.. I really don't think we'll be hearing from our Texas gals for awhile. Sounds like no power anywhere near them. What a horrible storm!! Ethan was here all day and night and did very well. I slept on one couch and he slept on the other last night and he slept from 9:30 p.m. - 8:30 this morning. We've had Breakfast and are now going out to pick up a music stand and then wait for Aunt Kris and Uncle Nathan to come and take him for the day and night. Flute concert is tonight and I'll be glad when it's done!! I'll be introducing all the pieces and that makes me a nervous wreck! Unfortunately I'm the only one with a voice that projects. PamELa.. I know just what you mean about the VaJay Jay....It used to be bad for me, but now with the new bike and the wide seat and losing the weight, it's such a difference. When we go riding we usually go for 8 or 9 miles. We take a little break about halfway through. We haven't been in awhile, but the weather is so cool in the evenings now, we should be starting up again. No pool today. It's 58 and we're going to get the effects of IKE for the next few days. We're expecting lots of rain here. Our Democratic pig roast fund raiser is today and it looks like it will have to be inside. I hope the weather doesn't keep people from the concert tonight. Well, I better get Ethan set to go. Everyone have a great day. Texas Violets have my continued thoughts and prayers.
Kat817 19 Posted September 13, 2008 Terry so thankful you checked in. I have been up and down all night checking the weather channel. Worried does not begin too cover it. I am back towhere I was when I had the stomach virus before. I cannot eat nor drink without it coming back up. I am keeping some liquids in, because I am not totally dehydrated.....but not enough to feel like it is doing me much for health. One minute I plan on calling my Dr, on Monday---the next I remember that as soon as my swelling went down I was back to normal, so I don't want to get to hasty, know what I mean? The biggest problem I am having is not taking in enough to keep me warm----I can hardly type because I am shaking with cold----I am freezing all the time. And I have short sleeves for the party, where I know my SIL will have the AC going HIGH--they are both menopausing!! So need to find me a jacket that will work---but most of mine are too big I am sure! The scale remains in the 150's! Scares me! I never had problems, so suddenly now when I do I feel like I am losing too much. I lose according to how I feel, but yesterday afternoon, Rick got home, and well....he had been gone, and one thing led to another---when all of a sudden he says My God I can almost put my hands around your waist! He was freakihg out, and now he is determined I am going to see the Dr. he is insistant I am losing too much weight now.Hell before his belt would not go around my waist even......so it is a major change!!! I think the daylight and position had something to do with it!!!! Sorry TMI----but he is on my case now! Pamela----the hurt you are desribing, is exactly why my bike is hanging in the garage collecting dust!!! That reason exacitacally!!! Gotta go, guess we are going to go check out some of the airshow before decorating for the party....will check in tonight I imagine, and will be watching the weather for you TX Vi's......please keep safe! Daisalana 33 Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Morning V's, glad you were able to check in Terry!! I was on myspace last night finding people (I was up late and bored). I found the guy I worked for in Atlanta, doing DJing.. This is what he said, I was floored.. it's got to be one of the funniest (flattering?) things someone has ever told me.. didn't recognize you. You are so super thin and sexy now! I thought you were one of those spam emails that I get with pretty naked girls in the pic that try to get you to go to websites and buy some porn. I almost just clicked on "Spam" for your email and went about my merry way. LOL Oh pppsssttt.. PAM... fill will not keep you from being able to eat Coldstone Edited September 13, 2008 by FairyFacade
Kat817 19 Posted September 13, 2008 HI all---just spoke with Terry!! Relief!!! She said she and Richard made it through the storm with no damage, that their neighborhood is fairly young so does not have lots of trees to cause damage, etc. She sounded good. Has not been in touch with her kids, but thinks they too are safe. They have spoke with other family and all of them are ok. She said from what she can gather looking at the reports, Tracy's area was hit hard, but not as hard as they expected, but she has no idea when they will be able to return. Haydee's area looked to be in the direct path. And we remembered the big old trees in the yard of the old home she and Juans Mom do the events out of....she has no idea about it or where it is to Haydee's home. She has intermittent cell service. And get this....I know it will not surprise any of you, but as we hung up, she and Richard were taking a drive to see if they saw anyone who needs help! She is without power and will be for who knows how long.....so has no AC-----I am sending her by telepathic powers the frost we had on things this morning! Anyone who hears from anyone----let us know! Kat
