Thanks for that refresher course. I pretty much failed that quiz. But some behaviors are changed and hopefully changed forever. I'd say I got about a 65% on the quiz. I know it is not a quiz...but, oh well!

Hah, I won't say where I fall in line there

But since Terry asked last night, I figured I'd put that out there for anyone looking to revamp or remember the 'rules'.

SHRINKIN V'S WITH SIGGIES!!!! Just wanted to make sure, did everyone convert them to their own host? I was going to delete them out of my album today, but wanted to make sure I'm not still the only host for anyone (I.E. upload to your own photobucket or similar account). Let me know if I need to hold onto anyone's for a while longer. They won't be gone forever regardless, I kept copies in a folder on my computer in case they ever disappear.

And if anyone else wants one, let me know! If you don't want to use your pic, I can just put something else there :))

One of my co-workers had ovarian cancer last year, so they took out all her lady stuff and she did chemo for a long time. She's finally gotten back to normal (re: hair mostly) she had long beautiful hair and was so upset about losing it all, and then she wore scarves and was sickly all the time. Her hair's growing back, she's strong and back at it.

Yesterday at her routine testing, they discovered the cancer is now in 4 lymph nodes. :)

She's going to have another operation to remove all of her lymph nodes in the area (kidney area I think she said), which I didn't even realize you had lymph nodes down there.. and now another round of chemo. So sad, for her to get it within a year of chemo and previous surgery I worry what this means. Keep her in your prayers if you're a praying V.

Just stopping by real fast and checking in. Took my sis to do her pre-op and now I'm off to go get the mop on my head cut. Than it's off to the hospital for our shift.

Pam, I had A-Typical Endometrial Hyperplashia and had to have everything removed. I mean everything. I am now technically a shit, (that's a she+it). I too had to deal with the fact that there was no possible way to have kids. We don't have any and now there was really no way of having any. I am so truly blessed to have a man that walked thru my cancer scare with me and still loves me for the one big scar that I am. You will be just fine and you are also blessed to have Susanne with you by your side for it. Hang in there.

Is everyone getting their Water in?

I was going to give Terri a Royals update but she's not here so Judy this is for you. 1st inning- no score.

(2) Avoid: rice, potatoes, pasta

Just now a guy that I work with brought in our lunch (on Wed the company buys us lunch). It is sitting here on my desk and I began to read the 'rules' post Laura did. I got to this part about the rice, potatoes & Pasta and I look down to see what we got for lunch...

Fried chicken, cajun rice, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese:scared2: LOL

Hi girls. Feeling much better today but that except for that dang cough...

Still holding steady at 229 even though I've been eating real food for the past few days. Crossing my fingers that it holds!!

I was just on another thread and a lady posted that she was wearing size 14 jeans. It's amazing the disparity in sizes that we wear at the same weight. I'm still in a tight 18!! I feel like I won't be in a 14 bottom until i'm at goal or close to goal. Just discourages me sometimes when I look at the size of my pants... I really really need to get get my pannus chopped off...

Haydee, just wanted to make sure you saw that girl's response to you

Haha.. no I wish! I'm in an 18 as well. I'm hoping at 170-ish to be in a 14. That's what I was back in high school.. Plus the Apple Bottoms measure a little bigger to "celebrate" those curves!

Curves....I want some Curves! I can fit in a 14----but I am not curvy like that.....hips are super narrow----no junk in my trunk!

All you Texas girls, will remember the Rockies jeans....they were made for someone like me--(only skinny) straight hipped.....

My niece as she gained weight, kept trying to wear the Rockies, and similar, Lady Wranglers etc. She looked like she had to be in pain! Those things with the high waist--climbed into places, no jeans should be!!!

Now she is banded, and losing and she will be able to wear the Western style anytime she wants comfortably....I am so happy for her! She was like Haydee---had the nice curvy/girly shape....so she is just doing the same, overall shrinking....I wish!! Instead of shrinking everywhere, and having the belly hang!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
