Wooo Hoooo... we got us some gor geee us Violets. The siggy's look great. It's so neat seeing them on other threads too. We be special! Thanks for doing that for us, Laura.

Ethan is running around and hopefully he'll be tired enough for a nap after lunch. I know I will be!!

Kat, loved your story about the pennies. We got a plant when my father in law died and it never bloomed until the day of my mother in law's funeral. We call those "grace-idences" instead of "coincidences". I'm a firm believer in angels and "graceidences".

I know they happen! My Grandpa used to be the hit of the neighborhood with his flower border down the drive way and across the front of their house--which is just down the street from me. In the Spring there would be huge full bundles of daffodils, and then marigolds all summer long, big ones, little ones, gold, orange, yellow--thousands of blooms at a time.

He died in January several years ago, there was several inches of snow on the ground. When we all made our way back to the house from the cemetary following the burial of his ashes a few days after the service, my Grandma stopped dead in her tracks on the porch, and there peeking through the snow was one single yellow daffodil.

Daffodils are bulbs, and marigolds re-seed themselves. For years he dead headed the marigolds and re sprinkled them, but left on their own, they bloomed every year until my Grandma died too----and there are no daffodils, nor marigolds blooming there anymore!

They used to have a gorgeous snowball bush---and the guy pulled it up. We mentioned last fall we wish Grandma could see how big my snowball bush had grown----and went out a few days later to find a single snowball bloomed out on it!

They enjoyed the flowers so much, I see them giving me signs through them a lot! I know how green Grandpa's thumb was here in dry New Mexico---I can only imagine the things he is doing where he is now!!! Oh my!

Kat

Ok, so this is how lunch went today. I gave Ethan his food and he was enjoying it. I had a couple of forkfuls of chicken salad and had to PB. Finished that little chore. Then thought I'd try my chicken noodle Soup instead. Everything was fine until I got to the next to the last bite. Then it was bathroom time again. By this time Ethan had finished and I had him out of the high chair running around. He followed me into the bathroom and as I'm bent over the toilet, SMACK, he flips the lid on my head. I then proceed to PB and he's patting me on the back saying UH OH!!!

Lovely.

Now I smell a strange aroma and it ain't me so I think it's diaper time. Oh joy.

I went to a weekend workshop last year on Past Life Regression led by Brian Weiss (author of [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Many-Lives-Masters-Prominent-Psychiatrist/dp/0671657860/ref=pd_bbs_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205340144&sr=8-2]Many Lives, Many Masters[/ame]). One of the exercises we did was to get a partner and hold one of their personal possessions (like a ring, or keys, etc.) while Dr. Weiss led us thru a meditation. We tried to connect to any images that holding the item would produce for us...and it was such a cool exercise. Anyway, my partner saw images of a white house, surrounded by trees, and rose bushes near a fence that were glowing and pulsating with color. When he asked me if this had any significance for me, i was blown away! I had just earlier that day been telling my friend about the times at my grandparents farm in the country and how they were the best times in my life. And yes, it was a white house, surrounded by big pecan trees and a white fence....along which my grandmother's prize climbing roses thrived. I thought it was odd that the flowers were so significant in his image because it was my grandfather that I was particularly close to....but I realize that in the heavenly realm my grandmother's love for me is as pure as anyone's and i thought that was her way of letting me know she was always with me.

Terri-that is a sweet story. Stuff like that amazes me. I could listen to stories like that all day long.

Judy-OMG!! Are you OK? I have to admit I laughed when I read your post though cause I got the visual of it...

Oh yes, I'm fine. Just a little bump on the head. I've been doing a lot of PB'ing lately. Definitely don't need a fill. Just hope the scale moves before Monday when we go to the doc. My support group meets this Saturday and I've had a couple of new people call about it so hopefully there will be a good turnout. We have a fitness expert coming in to talk to us. Maybe this old dog will learn some new tricks!

I'm off to choir in an hour and then dinner out afterwards. Hope everything stays down!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
