Lots of sad news as I wake up on this beautiful morning here in Houston.

Pamela - my sweet friend - my heart is aching for you as I know you are devastated by this news of your father's passing. You thought you had a little more time :smile2: He was just ready, I suppose....and is finally free. There is some comfort in that, I know. My deepest sympathy to all of your family. Know that we love you and are holding you in our hearts.

Denise - Your situation is every mother and grandmother's nightmare. I don't even know what to say. I know you have explored every avenue there is, I'm sure. Addiction is so horribly tenacious...my heart goes out to you. What I can offer you is a shoulder to cry on and lots of prayers. You are a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and I am very, very proud of your strength and courage. We'll be here for you in any way we can. You know that. ((Hugs))

Good Morning.

Pam, I am truly sorry for what you are going thru. Just remember all the love that you and your dad have for each other. This will help carry you thru. Lean on Susanne all that you can. Let her help you. Remember that all of us are sitting on your shoulder whispering in your ear that we care very deeply for you and that you are not walking alone.

Denise. I'm sorry for your situation but do always keep in mind that you will soon be having a new little one to give all your love too. I'll keep all of you in my prayers and pray that this little child will be her salvation and she will straighten up.

Not to busy today. They are going to be delivering our firewood soon. I can't wait. It's 28 degrees here right now and I'm ready for a fire.

Have a great day. Hugs to all of you.

Hey Violets~

Thank you so much for all your positive energy! It was expected...but none the less, devastating!

I got the email yesterday about cancelling Thanksgiving, and him having 2-4 weeks to live. So, my friend offered to drive me so I could have some drinks (plural). Well as my 3rd Mojito arrived, I got the call. At first my dad's # showed up on my cell and I thought it was my step mom calling to talk about the email. I ignored it, thinking I'd call her in the am...not from the bar. Then my bro called from work, and I ignored him too...thinking...wtf? Then he called from his cell and I answered. I called step mom, Stef called Susanne (who is in Phoenix...but is on her way home now), and then I came back and drank my drink. I had 2 choices...start crying and boohooing w/ a buzz...or keep drinking, and honestly grieve for him in the morning...w/o the booze effects. So, I did shots of tequilla, had some dear friends over and listened to music. Went to bed at midnight...was up and ready for coffee at three am! Decided to sleep more, and then Susanne called at 6 to tell me she was on the road (4 hour drive). So there it is...

I don't know anything yet, gonna call in a bit. My sister (step sis for 35 years) flew up last night. Not sure when I am going...I'll be home for a few days though...gotta get my shit straight for the sub, etc. I get 5 days off for this because I have to travel. I'll keep you all posted!

I love you all ladies! I texted my violets before my BFF! That is saying something!

xoxoxo

Thank you everyone for the words of encouragement...you're right, the babies will get me through this. I AM strong and I have to be so that I can stand up for them. Everything happens for a reason...maybe, just maybe, she'll do the right thing this time.

On another note, here's a video of my other daughter's son, Blake, playing with a balloon. I have never heard him laugh like this! He's so darn cute...! He just cut his first 2 teeth!! :smile2:

((Pamela))

Everyone here has spoken so eloquently to you... I doubt I can add anything more of value... but do know that we are here for you, you are not alone, we love you, and yes, now he is free & no longer suffering and is at peace... as I know from experience, that is such a comfort at this time... be gentle with yourself, friend... xoxo

Pammy - I'm so sorry for your loss. Words cannot explain how very sorry I am for the pain this has caused you. Stay strong honey...

Denise - you and your family are in my prayers. I will pray that everything goes just as well with this next pregnancy as with her first one. Stay strong Denise, we love you very much....

Tracyk - glad to have you back from your enchilada stupor... LOL

Hi girls, I've been mia for a few days... First because I got horribly sick and then my mom fell off a ladder on Wednesday and broke her arm and twisted her knee. So we were at the hospital most of the night Wednesday and Thursday we took her to her and orthopetic specialist and she got a cast on her arm and she's getting physical therapy for her knee. What a crazy week...

I'm still not over being sick. I just can't seem to get better. I haven't been diligent with my medicine because of everything that has been going on and now it seems like it's not even helping... I still have a runny nose, sneezing, itchy throat... Haven't been sleeping well. I'm just a complainer today... Just hear me whine...

I'm here at the office today, trying to catch up on mounds of work... I'll be popping in and out...

Pam, thanks for popping in. I know when my mom was stroking and in the ER, after things settled down a bit texting my Violets was the first thing on my list....THEN I texted my best friends of 30 years! (((Big hug))) Oh, and I just saw your text about your dad 30 minutes ago. My phone was on silent last night...sorry I didn't see it last night.

Sorry Haydee!!! That's a bunch o' stuff to be dealing with. And there's nothing worse than having to be at the office on a beautiful day like today! :smile2:

Jenn - good to see you!

OMG, I just got a "Flying Monkey" in the mail. Hubby won't quit playing with it. The cats are totally scared of it.

Thanks for the good laugh Tracy.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
