Toyster 0 Posted January 28, 2009 let me share my take on this, I was banded on the 16th 09...My thinking is that when you eat that popsicle or eat that Jello, you arent eating a meal,,,and all the Water you are sipping in between and during this time is just counted at survival and hydration. i think we just arent eating anything but liquids and that doesnt make a meal,,,,not im my book...good luck to youmary I was banded on the 16th too....I did alright until Saturday where I started feeling nauseous but feel much better now. Have you started on the next diet phase? I will find out for myself tomorrow. Toy

Toyster 0 Posted January 28, 2009 Hi Toyster, I am so sorry to hear that you are having difficulties. I know exactly how you're feeling and it's not nice. Prop yourself up as much as you can when going to sleep and try not to eat for at least 2 - 3hours before you go to bed. Sometimes it helps. Best wishes. I am better now and I do have an adjustable sleep number bed that I am pleased with. I have been sleeping practically sitting up since the surgery. I generally drink Water two or three times before bed because I am really thirsty. Those small sips and at 2 0zs at a time is somewhat frustrating, however I am dealing with it. Toyster 0 Posted January 28, 2009 yep, katy, hubby celebrated with me this morning. I hit the 100 lbs mark and he got up and hugged me and told me how proud is was of me. Then promptly went back to bed as it was 430am and he doesn't have to get up as early as me. I am just thrilled to have reached that. When i got banded i thought i'd be the one it didn't work for or something. Instead the lord has blessed me with just the opposite, i've had amazing success and a smooth journey thus far. Now i have visions of actually reaching my goal weight. Only 36 to go! fantastic! Praise the lord!!!
Toyster 0 Posted January 28, 2009 QUESTION FOR EVERYONE: When you were on the phase one and two diet how much was a sip for you? How much at one time were you allowed? I barely get my mouth wet because I am afraid of taking in too much and too fast. For those past this stage, how much do you drink at one time? Toy
Socialdot 0 Posted January 28, 2009 I was told to sip (not gulp) all the time after the first 48 hours. Dot
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted January 28, 2009 Congratulations Long! 100 lbs is so amazing. I was allowed to drink 3 oz at a time when I first had surgery. They gave me a measuring cup. Now, I can drink a 24 oz glass of Water in no time at all. I don't drink anything other than water. Once in awhile, I drink Propell which is just flavored water.< /p>

Thanks for letting me know. Toy

pj_txlady 0 Posted January 28, 2009 I am now 10 days post op and have been feeling really sick. I am nauseous 24/7 and it gets worst when I am walking.I can no longer sip my Protein and broth. I am barely getting the Water in me. I sip in small slow sips and no longer can get the 20z down. Going to bed the last two nights was disastrous as i was fighting to keep from vomiting. I gagged but nothing came up. I am scheduled to see my surgeon this Wednesday in the a.m. Did anyone go through this? If so what did you do? Toy I went through that too. I had to go back to my Dr's office and the Dr removed some of my fill. The next day I spent the whole day in the Emergency room, still sick. Dr came and removed more. You must call you Dr.

Great2BThin 5 Posted January 28, 2009 I couldn't get to this site for about 24 hours. GRRRR and now am not getting the email notifications again, double GRRRR Thanks so much for all the congrats and kudos on my loss. And yes I did do a happy dance yesterday morning. I still can't believe it. Today at the hospital in my volunteer work, one of the things I do is set up the classroom for the preop and 2 week post op nutrition classes. They always ask if I've had the surgery and when I told them today and my loss they were all amazed and very hopeful. That felt nice. As for yesterday I have the help of a bad tooth to help in the weight lass department. I went to the dentist yesterday and it's infected and will need a root canal. YUCK!!! I am on antibiotics now and get the root canal in 2 weeks. I hope the antibiotics take away the infection and therefore the pain fast! I'm not eating much, sleeping much, etc. And I feel so run down, DH thinks it's my body fighting the infection. And what I do eat, I have a hard time chewing fine enough and have PB'd more than normal. as for Water, immediately after surgery, i was to drink 1 oz every 15 min. Now I get in 60 to 80 oz a day, but still by sipping, I can't gulp a whole glass of water in the morning well. Especially cold water. Melody, congrats on your loss so far!
