FLMan 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Okay just some last minute questions. 1. When can I life over 10 pounds? 2. When can I get back to a full workout instead of just walking on the tread mill? Thanks,
make33 2 Posted January 7, 2008 Your surgeon is the one who can best answer those questions--but it was five weeks until I was allowed to lift more than 10# (and I went back to Curves). At seven weeks, I went back to the YMCA three times and that was way too soon--I was a hurting puppy for about three weeks and certain it was a hernia. (Turns out, it was my port giving me grief!) So I'm going back to the YMCA again this Wednesday, which is three months after surgery (probably you could go back in 8 - 9 weeks). I was anxious too--but the port is attached to muscle and everything takes time to HEAL, so we just have to be patient, bud...
oreokitty 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I would ask your doc I was not given a weight restriction on my surgery but you will want to take it easy or the port will hurt
JulieJulie 0 Posted December 27, 2008 I just had the surgery on Dec 23rd and it says not to lift over 10-15 lbs for the first 6 weeks on mine. My port is up on my shoulder and not close to my abdomen. I have had no problems and it was much easier than i thought it would be. I have had no solid food for almost 4 days now and have not been hungry at all, even during Christmas dinner at my sisters.
