Hi...I'm 30 (2 wks shy of 31), single, no children, and live in the Chattanooga, TN area. I am waiting for insurance approval, but since my insurance supports weightloss surgery I hope the "weight" isn't too long. I am so excited hearing everyone's success stories I would love to share mine someday.

Thanks...it's nice knowing that someone else is from Chattanooga. Where did you have your LBT done at? I am thinking, once approved, of working with the Memorial program. I hear that they are pretty good pre and post surgery. Hope to talk more.

Michelle

I used Memorial's system....kinda

I went with Dr Ponce who does surgery at Memorial, I had mine in Dalton GA though. I was self pay, my insurance said I wasn't fat enough or sick enough to qualify. I guess I could have gained another 15 pounds, but I'm stubborn that way....

I had my surgery on Jan 7, 2008. Haven't regretted it for a minute.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
