DeLarla, How are You Feeling?

Recommended Posts

I got good news today. Mary hadn't seen the wound in a week, but today she said it was smaller and looked really good. The bandage is bright green, a funky neon color, but she said it's not infection. Kinda like some chemical reaction from the peroxide, like I know what I'm talking about?

Paula, a woman told me to soak the bandage in collidal silver. She told me her father had cancer and a wound wouldn't heal till they used the collidal silver, and she swears it healed him.

I laughed a lot today! Then again, I drank a lot today. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Thanks for all the nice thoughts.

What Mary told you is DEFINATELY on the 'up' side! You certainly needed to hear that today! Good good news!

***warning, this is waaaaay off thread topic***

ok, got a true story to share with you regarding the collodial silver...

when we started using it (about 4 years ago), we were told how easy it was to make. So, since we were using it so often, we decided to give it a try. I call this lady in Iowa state (a friend told me about her) to get the directions on making it. She and I got into a big conversation on the many different ways we use it. She told me that she would pour about 1/2 cup of collodial silver into her pigs Water trough (weekly) and it would keep the green slime from forming *AND* her pigs never had worms.

True story.

This is going to go off topic as well, but I need to share about this beautiful 14 year old in my neighborhood. She's one of the girls that visits me (last night I had all the teens and their parents here for a little party.)

Sarah honestly looks like model material, but she has "gauges" in here ears. Gauges are the huge plugs that kids are putting in their ears now (like African tribes make huge hanging holes in their ears.)

Sarah's wears huge bolts from dad's garage in here ears - the holes are like dimes now. So last night I ripped of my bandage to show her my hole (I was trying to prove a point.) She freaked and thinks my hole is so disgusting but I asked "what's the difference considering what you've done to your ears?"

I doubt I made any impact, but at least I tried.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
