Sure, Jen... but I don't know how good I'll be as a flying-mate for you! In the interest of full disclosure, I'm more of a "tough love" / "suck it up" / "just do it" kind of mentor... soooooo... don't be too freaky on me OR expect me to be all mushy/gushy... sorry, but it's true!

(WHY don't you like to fly?? They say it's safer than driving!)

Is this a definite? Are you our lovely "cruise director" Terri?? Are we booking??

OMG Tracy!!!! That is WONDERFUL!!!! You're coming!?!?!

Michelle -- Glad to hear from you!!! Yea!!!

Laura - I've never launched from this area of the river, so I'm not sure about the river-side bars...but there very well may be! We definitely will be taking an ice chest float with us...and if we run out of drinks, people bum from each other on the river. All you gotta do is show 'em some titties! LOL!

I've got one B&B holding rooms for us for a few days, but there's a better one that I'm waiting to hear back from. Ideally we should stay at the Gruene Mansion Inn because that is smack dab middle of all the action and very cute. I'll talk to them tomorrow.

Ya'll think I could get a headcount by early next week? Now that the holidays are over, the Hill Country will start to book up quick!

Michelle,

I'm afraid of heights, afraid of falling... and get slightly air sick...before my dd I use to fly all the time... I just need guidance... I will either take drugs or drink heavily... I think it is only a 2-3 hr flight... who knows if we leave early and I'm up driving all night i might just pass out. I am going to see my dr tomorrow for something totally unrelated so I'm going to get some drugs. I don't need mushy and if I get all mushy, laugh at me because it will be the drugs... I promise it won't be please help me..

And yes, Terri is a lovely cruis director

I don't generally freak out, very queit and white knuckles from holding on to the seats.

I'll be happy to be cruise director! I'll get a better handle on costs tomorrow and pass that along as I get the info. I'm working under the assumption that we're ok with 2 girls sharing a room as long as they don't have to share a bed, right? Of course, if you just want a private room that's no problem either...but you're looking at probably $175/night. Just keep that in mind.

Oh, ya'll don't know how proud I would be to have ya'll come to Texas!! I think you'd have a great time!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
