There's an airport close by. There's tons of Hotels. There an amuzement park inside the mall. You would definately get our exercise in. I drove thru that area several years ago and I remeber how big the area was and that there looked like a lot of things to do.

AS someone posted a couple pages back...

I would love to experience KC. I am not far from it, but know very little about what it has to offer.

I think they would have a good airport.?. Reasonable lodging, and tons of entertainment. How far would that be for "Jen"? Don't they have good BBQ too... I mean high Protein meals.lol

ok ... i might want to puke, but if I could be heavily drugged and promised that you gals will not let me freak out and get arrested... i would consider going to San Antonio.... I am talking serious drugs and Michelle would have to fly with me... i will drive to her.

I really liked Terry's rafting, cowboys and music and fun... I would love to be closer where I could drive but I am not getting any feedback on that.

As I type this I am feeling horribly sick to my stomach

I just went on to Southwest and for $600 I can get airfair, hotel for 3 nights. The room is booked as 2 person which to me means that I get a room and split the cost to share a room?

I would have to be seriously drugged... seriously....

I'm already changing my mind

how about this suggestion....

how about everyone list what they are looking for 3 quality of a trip

such at warmth?

activities?

gamgling?

type of hotel? pool? hot tub? private rooms?

maybe if we pick a direction we can narrow something down...

yes i've already changed my mind about flying

My biggest lol (or smallest issue) is budget.

Jen------ I am like you, driving would be way better than flying, but only, if it is cost effective. I don't want to be known as CHEAP- and don't like to be CHEAP, BUT..

SO--- How much can, a room, small dinner, and a tiny tequila cost? When spending time with this group I can't keep up with = priceless!

I WOULD LOVE SOME TIME AWAY... unfortunately it needs to be "reasonable expense wise". Other than that I'm open for suggestions.

Terry

I could look into PA - on the 250 deals there were lots of pa deals - there were also deals to Boston too

As for money it is a slight issue for me too but I dont' care... not just with surgery i've had a rough few years and just need to take care of me, but on the other hand i can't be nuts either. Girls, I just got a nice bottle of Tequila for xmas so i'll be bringing it on our trip

When I went to San Antonio on the riverwalk, I took one of the riverboat tour things. Well, I got on the boat sober and thanks to pitchers of margaritas when I got off I could hardly walk. Sea legs maybe? lol San Antonio is really nice!

Hi Terry - I live in Springfield Missouri.. I hope no one thinks I am implying we should all come here.. all though, there is quite a lot going on here too. lol Missouri is the "Show Me State". And it would be cheaper for me.hahahah

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
