<Is there a smilie w/it's head popping off in frustration???... looks around... Where is a good smilie when you need it??>

Laura... can you check out Pam's idea now that we're all on board with the Tunica idea?? Another thought... how far out CAN your dad plan... one month (which would be April)? Two (which would be March)? ?? Ask him! Please.

Laura-do not sweat the small stuff. Everything will work out one way or another. Just another little road block that we can go around!! Don't let anything or anyone get you down sweetie! Its all good!

Michelle---if Laura's Dad cannot make plans ahead, is the cabin still an option? It would allow us to include Jenn again....and fall in with Judy's original plan.....

One way or another we will figure this out.

I'd be up for Palm Springs!

Or y'all could head to the 4 corners!!!

If you want a REAL taste of Texas, here's my idea....just to throw it out there:

One of my favorite spots in Texas is the little historic town of Gruene. The Guadalupe River (our favorite toobin' river) runs right thru it and there's lots of outfitters ready to rent you a toob and an ice chest to float down the river. By far one of my favorite pass-times....takes about a half-day. The weather will definitely be warm enough to do this....and it's a BLAST.

There's oodles of cute shops in the restored little town where you can easily spend a whole day just moseying around. That weekend is also the Gruene Market Days....where Texas artisans gather to show off and sell their handicrafts.

Gruene is also home to the the "Oldest Dance Hall in Texas" and i guarantee you that every country singer worth his salt has played there at one time or another. Willie and Jerry Jeff have played there tons. It's all open air with lots of cold beer, cute cowboys in tight jeans, and fun as hell.

This offeres a good overview of the town: Historic Gruene Texas

This is one of the very cool, very Texas-like guest houses: http://www.gruenehomesteadinn.com/farmhouse.htm A group of 10 could get this for about $200/3 nights.

You fly into either Austin or San Antonio and drive about an hour. Very easy to get to. We could even do one night (Sunday?) in San Antonio to get a taste of that special place, too.

San Antonio's River Walk--Remember the Alamo is totally awesome!!!

We still have to figure out a way to transport Jennifer!!!

If it involved a cute Texan in "Wrangler Butts drive me nuts" tight jeans---it would be even better!

We go to one of the Art Fairs in the little town near where our place in TX is--I love them!

If gambling is still on some minds, there is always off season Atlantic City......cheap!

Hah hah, when I did the foreign exchange program to Australia/New Zealand.. it was 20 kids from Alabama, 20 kids from Texas. And boy, did we both represent. Our group was all rednecks, and the Texas group was all cowboys!! They had the big belt buckles, tight jeans.. it cracked me up. And I have a magnet on my fridge one of them gave me "Don't Mess with Texas!", that's the state motto isn't it?

Scratch the Gay, and you describe me....and I pay taxes there, so I hope not!!

LOL

Kat

Yep we laugh at the buckles....in fact the bimbos running around the rodeos----we always called them Buckle Bunnies!!

But I personally believe it is a tombstone for a dead _ _ _ _ !!!!

Pamela - if the state were nothing but natives, you might be in trouble....but we have lots of 'foreigners' here who brought all their gay, liberal demo crap with 'em!! They outnumber the rednecks by a WIDE margin now!

It's actually a anti-litter campaign motto...but has come to represent our whole attitude in a nutshell.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
