Nologoz 18 Posted January 5, 2008 I haven't stepped on a scale in months. I don't own one because I have been in a long state of denial about my weight. I need to face the music. I had to approximate my weight on my surgical application and now I'm worried it will mess up the process toward surgery. I need a scale that is easy to read, has a wide platform, and a large weight capacity. Any suggestions on make or model would be greatly appreciated. juliegeraci 7 Posted January 5, 2008 I got a digital scale from Bed Bath and Beyond. It works perfectly and matches my doctor's scale.
SimplyMe 0 Posted January 5, 2008 I like my Weight Watcher's scale from Wal-Mart.....records in tenths of a lb and easy to read.
MissMom24 2 Posted January 5, 2008 I also got a Weight Watchers scale...I love it! It is easy to read, you can customize it, and the weight limit was 400 pounds. I found it a Target (they had them all on sale...) Brandy
georgia girl 35 Posted January 5, 2008 I bought this one at Walmart for about $40 HealthoMeter Body Fat & Body Water Fitness Tracking scale - Wal-Mart It has been worth every penny. You can program up to 4 people on it. You can store all of your information on it (height, weight, gender, BMI, goal weight, etc.) and it will track your progress. It also tells you if you are hydrated enough, but I never use that feature. It is very close to matching the doctor's scales. I love it!
RainyDay 0 Posted January 5, 2008 I also like the Weight Watchers scale. I got mine at costco. If you are a Costco member, there is a coupon right now for $10 off in the current coupon book, which makes it about $18, which is very cheap for a scale with high capacity and accuracy. I have tested it by standing on it holding a bag of flour or a can of Soup and the readings are pretty consistent.

This was after purchasing a Taylor scale that did the same thing. What I love about the HealthoMeter is that it's easy to get to your saved info. No scrolling through files. Just hit the 1,2, 3 or 4 button and you are ready.
LapBandit 5 Posted January 6, 2008 My health-o-meter scale has been great too. And, very accurate. It has ALWAYS matched my surgeon's scale and that's impressive. My bariatric surgeon's scale is this massive thing with a hand rail but my little bath scale always matches his!
WestCoastFatGuy 3 Posted January 6, 2008 If you have the ability to splurge, the Tanita BF-350 is amazing. It's a scale with bodyfat analyzer.. also compatible with Tanita's bodyfat analyzer software for recording and tracking. It's a boatload of money $750 online from tanita, but I ordered it through a local scale company and saved around $100 bucks (as I remember). I've had it for about 5 years and love it! (440 lbs max).
