bullpen87 2 Posted January 5, 2008 I am pooting myself to death! I feel like the little engine who could..and does! Does it come from swallowing air as I chew my food slower? I have had my band 5 weeks..no fill yet.. 2 newlife828 and Debbie3sons reacted to this

kacee 3 Posted January 5, 2008 Swallowing air. We're put together a little differently now. But I would imagine you are still getting rid of the air pumped into you during surgery. I was actively farting for about 2 months. It lessens over time, but you will still find that you have more gas than you did before surgery. That's been the case for me anyway. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
Zhan 1 Posted October 15, 2010 I have had my band 1 week now... know what you are talking about... 1 more wind and I will take off....lol I found a cup of warm peppermint tea works.. for a while. For the rest of the time, hiding out.. finding a quiet place to let it goooo... it is terrible... but I have to laugh about it.. I am sure it will get better. I read somewhere on the forum that you can take a few peppermint drops to help with the... storm clouds inside.. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
Manda87 3 Posted October 15, 2010 Are you drinking any Protein Shakes? Sometimes Protein shakes give me gas. lol
libbylovesdogs 0 Posted October 16, 2010 I also think it's because we are swallowing air. When my stomach feels gurgly, I take Simethicone and that has helped a lot! -Libby
Wgbem 138 Posted August 13, 2013 I had my band for 11 months and the gas is TERRIBLE... Have you taken anything that has brought some relief? 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
SlimCia 30 Posted August 14, 2013 I had my band for 11 months and the gas is TERRIBLE... Have you taken anything that has brought some relief? I'm 3 months out and have the same problem. I just read that taking a probiotic "might" help. I just bought some and will be trying it out. Wish me luck!
dawalsh 919 Posted August 14, 2013 I'm 7 months out and I still have the flatulence problem. It doesn't matter what I eat. Burping is not a problem for me but I wish I could control the gas better. 1 Debbie3sons reacted to this
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted August 14, 2013 Just think if we could put in our real gas tanks how much cheaper it would be if we could bottle it up and like I have said before for the newbies I have a son who loves music and plays in a band so when it happens I just tell him my band is playing lol. donna450 130 Posted September 4, 2013 Gets me out of crowded places faster. Have noticed it more after my 3rd fill. My gas was the day of surgery . Itt was right in or around my throat. On the 4th day of Clear liquids had to have something different...4 oz skim milk....it broke up the gas but spread it out all over my left side. I'm on full liquids now but the gas isn't goung away. It's been a week now and I have to take shallower breaths due to chest hurting. I take gasx activated charcoal and yes even skim milk but nothings work. How did anyone get rid of surgery gas?
