And how is maintenance going for you Boo Boo?

Thanks for asking Paula! :)

but....I don't know yet I am still loosing...lol...I am truly trying to add calories in slowly, but I can't wrap my mind around it. It is funny you have the battle to loose, and then you get with the battle to stop loosing...never thought that would be so hard! I am no longer weighing myself, I had to stop. But now I am having to belt my 28" pants or they fall down. It doesn't sound so bad unless you factor in that I am 6". I am starting to scare myself.

I too am just shy of 6 ft. Boo Boo, have you thought of getting a slight defill?

I have been quite successful in adding back a few calories. I just eat more often. But I know my band isn't as tight as yours. Keep healthy my dear.

BTW, LOVE your new pic on the before/after board.

and BTW, BTW, How come you get to be a size 6 and I am still a size 12? NO FAIR!

I know I need a slight unfill, but I can not seem to let the control go. I am eating small Snacks of string cheese now and thinking I am ok...my brain needs a revamp I believe! Funny it goes that way eh?

How are you still a 12? I see you are just a bit more than me. Maybe you should change where you shop! :) lol... I have no butt left at all sad to say....and I am a 6 in Spanx to hold in the stomach skin...lol...so maybe I cheat??

You are amazing! Thank you so much for posting this! Really gives me hope I can do it again.

I was banded by Dr. Morton five years ago and lost 110 lbs. I got off track and gained 15 back when I needed to lose another 50. : (

I am getting a fill from him this month. The first one in years. I feel badly that I've not appreciated the band as it really did change my outlook and how I feel so much.

Your weight loss is an inspiration to me! Thank you, Holly

Thank you Holly! Good luck to you! You can get back on track, that is the REAL beauty of the band! :) And loosing 110 and only gaining 15 is great! Don't feel so bad, you could have gained alot more! Just keep focusing on the fact that you CAN DO THIS! Good luck!

I hear you on letting the control go, I understand. I am not ready to let any fill go yet either. I will see how the maintenance goes.

Boo....:thumbup:I just wanted to congratulate you and say that you a true inspiration. I am banded as of 8/14/07 and have lost 26.5lbs. I still have about 55-60 to yet (or even a little more...started at 191& doc says my ideal body wt is 112). I think I can do this and your story and others like it really do inspire. Thanks again. Oh and any meal preps you can help with will be appreciated also.

BBK thank you so much for your encouragement. I am in the beginnning of the process and have not yet been banded. Many sites say that people only lose 50 percent of their excess weight which was really discouraging me and making me think maybe gastric bypass was the way even though I really didn't want that. People like you are what is making me go foward and trust that God ahs a bigger plan for me and that I can do this!!!!!!! Thank you so much. I cannot wait to be able to share my progress along the way!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
