pre-op diet

Hello, my surgeon wants me to complete two weeks of Optifast before my surgery at the end of this month. The closest place to get optifast brand is 100 miles from me. (although i've seen some on ebay). I was wondering if anyone out there used something different. A nurse in his office told me that as long as it's comparable it would be fine. Maybe some of you could help this newbie out by sharing with me what you used before your surgery and what you thought of it. Thanks a bunch!

I was allowed Slim Fast Lo Carb and have recently found a canned drink called "Zoic" which has 80 less calories, less fat, less carbs, and more Protein than Slim Fast.

I was also permitted anything sugar free, including fudgsicles--but each surgeon is different.

My surgeon put me on Medifast for two weeks before surgery (they paid for it, too!). Five of the Medifast meals a day plus a "lean + green" meal of 2 cups veg and 4-6 oz Protein. You could check and see if your doc things that would be a good substitute for his plan.
