OMG, my heart bleeds for her and her children.

For those who don't know, last night she was taken to a hospital for a psych evaluation. It was reported earlier it was time for her ex to take custody of her kids and she wouldn't let them go. (TMZ.com)

I never liked her before but after she had kids, and had problems with depression, I really empathized with her. I had gone through some of the same things after I had my children - depression, lack of self worth, unsupportive husband, etc..

The torment she goes through on a daily basis with those leeches following her around is astonishing.

I know we could go into her being rich and famous, for her deserving it, loving the attention, etc. etc. but really, none of us really know what has gone on in her relationships, her health, etc. Being followed around is probably the only thing that makes her feel worthy and beautiful nowadays.

I reeeally hope she can get some help, some relaxation, some time to reflect, and to get her shit together and go after #1, her kids.

I hope she doesn't die like Marilyn or Diana ... :cry

god i think she needs to get a grip on her life right here right now if she stands any chance of getting her kids back. she is dating [we are led to believe a pap]so he's reported to be telling her where to be what to say etc, no one forced her to sling all the booze and drugs down her throat ,i could go on but im not going to wind myself up about it

I also can't help but feel sorry for her. BUT she really needs to get a grip on her life. Like Valerie B and Julia R said, you have babies now, stay home and keep your panties on.

I was 22 when I had my first child, previously I had smoked pot, did drugs, partied all the time but the minute I found out I was pregnant I cleaned it all up. To the point of quitting smoking cigs too, it wasn't hard to do when you care enough about that little life. I don't understand why she doesn't just focus on being the best mommy she can be. It really makes me wonder what her own home life was like. Did she ever feel really loved or did she feel like she was just a paycheck?

I agree with Bert. People who are suffering from psychiatric difficulties cannot just simply get a grip; for those individuals who are experiencing a true depression this is completely beyond them. Their behaviour will be erratic and they will self-medicate with drugs and alcohol. Often they will have eating disorders. I know all of this because I have read up on the subject and because I am a clinical depressive. In my case it is genetic and runs in our family. I have had problems, sometimes severe, with depression all my life.

Many women, however, suffer from post-natal depression. Some will suffer fairly badly and there are the rare cases of women who experience psychotic breaks with reality. We had two in my large city over the past 7 years who made the news. These were women who killed their babies and themselves. One of these women was a psychiatrist! She jumped under a subway train while holding her baby.

Britney has had two children recently. She is constantly in the public eye; she has no privacy. She was laughed at for her choice of husband, for gaining weight, her bizarre behaviour is scrutinized, and she is under pressure to regain her superstar status. This is an awful lot to have to deal with when you experiencing serious psychiatric problems. I have never found her nor her music at all interesting but I do feel sorry for her now.

Yeah, it's a bout time for an full evaluation to see if there is bi-polar disorder, pospartum depression, all the clinical evals AND THEN a long term treatment to recover from the addiction portion of this not uncommon mess. That way everything is being treated and she can get out of that horrible paparazzi situation. Women and men who have to hold such a collective projection often dont' make it or do well, like elvis, marilyn, Kurt Cobain, michael jackson.

So you wanna be famous? ya shure? hahahahah

When I said get a grip - that includes medical help. She has to look at her life and see that something is wrong. From shaving her head to losing her children, where is her family, loved ones who can say, Britney this isn't normal, you need help? I somehow don't think its an actual mental illness only because she was in treatment after the whole shaved head thing, don't you think that the professionals there would have been able to see there was a deeper issue?

I know a little about mental illness because my sister has 4 adult women in foster care at her home, they range from depression, ocd - at its worst - and schizophrenia. I am in complete understanding that these women can not raise children and carry on a "normal" life. I don't see that in Britney. But I'm not a doctor, I don't know her personally but I do hope this is finally the help she needs to get a grip on her life and take control of it. I do feel sorry for her and her babies.

I FEEL REALLY SORRY FOR HER, AS A LOT OF US DO.

I DON,T PARTICULARLY LIKE HER MUSIC BUT HAVE WATCHET HER AS A WOMAN AND A MOTHER AN I KNOW THERE IS LOADS SHE COULD DO TO HELP HERSELF AND HER PUBLIC PERSONNA BUT AS A YOUNG MOTHER I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW OVERWHELMD SHE MUST FEEL. I WAS ONCE IN HER POSITON (MINUS THE DRUGS AND ALCOHOL) HOWEVER I KNOW SHE IS GOING THROUGH A LOT WHILST STILL TRYING TO BE YOUNG AND WILD. THIS DOES NOT MEAN I APPROVE OF HER BEHAVIOUR BECAUSE I DON,T BUT I CAN GET IT AND HOPE SHE SEES THE WAY FORWARD SOON.

I have to disagree Derick - Anna isn't anywhere in the same ballpark as Britney. I don't think Britney compares to Diana, but I would think she is about equal to Marilyn - Marilyn wasn't a great actress, neither is Britney a great singer - but through their beauty and charm they both acheived star status. They are both very popular with the public and yeah, I think Britney is on the same page as Marilyn.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
