Recommended Posts

I am having my surgery on March 25th and will be needing a fill Dr. somewhere in N.W. Missouri, I hate driving and am not looking forward to driving in KC for this.

Can't help you much but thought I'd say "Hi" as I'm in the KC area as well. Would Omaha or Lincoln, Nebraska be any closer for you? I think there is also one or maybe two options in St. Joe though I'm not positive as I know several people from St. Joe area that still drive down to KC.

Anywho - Good luck to you and welcome to lapbandtalk.

Hello! Good luck in March - Have you looked at Fill Centers USA? I think they have one in Farmington, MO.... I don't know how far that is... or where it is for that matter...

Do a search on Fill Centers USA - they should have a list of every state they're in and the cities.

Did you find a Dr. in KC to do your fills?

I live in Kansas City, Mo - which is right on the state border with Kansas & I am set up with Malley Surgical Center.

Since my Surgery in December 2007 I've only had the need for 2 fills. One was just 4 weeks after surgery. I wasn't tight enough & I actually went back to Mexico for that. Then my most recent fill - a whole year later. I also went to Mexico for that one as well.

March came around & all of a sudden I could barley swallow liquids. I went to Malley Surgical center and they took 1/2 of a "CC" out. I'm better than I was!

Wow...Only two fills. That is great. I had Dr. Haucuz do my surgery as well. Dr. Haucuz gave me a fill before I left the clinic last Saturday. I am newly banded.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
