Suggestion for LapBandTalk

Recommended Posts

Per Alex's request, here is my only suggestion for the board.

I know I am not alone in wishing there was a classifieds area where we could post clothing for sale (or donation) for other members to peruse and purchase if they would like. Almost like our own personal ebay. I belong to another board and would be willing to show Alex or a moderator their classified section...(It's not for larger folks, or I would stop asking for this and just use theirs!!!)

While I'm writing to you...I'd like to say that I am so grateful for this board and the members of it. The support here has been unparalleled. Thank you!

Thanks for thinking about this.

Rain

That's a great idea! I'm starting to collect clothing that I can't wear anymore, and it would be wonderful to be able to pass it on to other people that could use it.

I think this is a wonderful idea. Some of my clothes don't fit anymore and having to buy brand new clothes all the time gets expensive. I would also love to pass mine on to someone who could get some use out of it. Great idea!

I've got two garbage bags full of 24s to 28s! I wanted to have a yard sale, but we don't have a yard and are moving to a condo in another town. I hate to take the clothes with me, since I'm sure I won't need them again, and will probably just give them to good will. But getting a few dollars for them would have really been nice as they were all in excellent condition!

i'm loving that idea. i'm currently an 18, but as i go down in size, i cannot afford to buy a lot of new clothes. so a personal e-bay would give me the option to purchase at a lower price.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
