Hi all. I am new to this forum and I am really excited to be a part of it. I have been working on getting a lap band for 4 years now!! I went to a consultation with a friend and she did it, but I decided to wait. Then I went back and started the process over and my insurance declined. Finally last month, when my husbands insurance changed, I decided to try one more time and not only did his insurance approve, but my insurance benefits changed and my insurance approved it too!! I am so excited and a little scared. I have scheduled my surgery for Februrary 8th. I am having the surgery in Clinton, IL, which is a very small town about 30 miles from home. I am a total Diet Coke freak, and I am a little worried about not being able to have that. But other than that, I am ready!! I have been overweight for about 10 years and I hate it. I have a tumor in my hip and cannot do much excercising. When I look in the mirror and I don't recognize me anymore. Yep, I am ready!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
