Sick and tight!

Recommended Posts

:wacko:I am sick with a nasty cold. I have been a little on the too tight side for just over 2months now. I am unable to get an unfill at the moment because of money issues. Yesterday, bam it totally hit me outta nowhere, I am sooooo tight I can actually feel the band. I can still get fluids down, I feel them going thru, but not much else. I guess alot of it has to do with the mucus that is draining into my stomach as well. Ugggg. This is not easy. Everyone pray for me that this will pass with a quickness, please!!:cry

Have you tried seeing if the doctor's office work out some kind of payment plan so that you can get a partial unfill?

This is your health...I hate to see you suffering.

Just a thought. I know many places just want their money upfront.

I hope you feel better

Yeah, the place I use for fills is money upfront only. SUCKS!!! Thanks for the best wishes though! Ugg sometimes I wish I was a my husband. And he was the wife. You know cuz us wives try and take on all the responsibility. He by the way is sick also, so is my little one. So it all falls on me to do the care taking. All of that on top of not being able to get in any adequate protien or calories, I am really running on empty!!

Hope you feel better soon. I have had a cold/sinus stuff going off/on for like past three weeks. I'll feel better, stop meds and then it comes back. When it is really bothering me and draining, I have extra restriction and can only get down liquids. Not even yogurt would work. Needless to day I had a crummy holiday. I had never heard of a connection with cold/sinus stuff and increased restriction but you and I are living proof of it. Once my cold subsided, it got better and I could eat solids. my problem was that I had never experienced restriction to that degree before and couldn't believe it. So I would try different foods that i can usually tolerate, they would come back up which caused more agitation and swelling. What are you taking for your cold?

Taking Niquil and dayquil. Got a terrible cough only at night when I am trying to sleep so I went and got some robitussan max cough. Hopefully it works tonite. If not, I am going to the doc tomarrow and demanding some cough Syrup. I can't run on no sleep and no food. Hopefully the robitussan will work, but if not codine cough syrup here I come!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
