How about "pale headed white rumped barred breast blockhead" :heh: :)

Seriously, I did a little research. Due the the fact that they are songbirds and they paralyze their prey by severing the spinal cord, I thought of "Paralyzing Songbird".

Hee! I thought about "Butcherbird," but I'm not sure yet.

Well good luck in finding the right name. I think it is a great idea to use a creative name that describes your interests.

I'm hoping I can come up with a good one. I just haven't found one yet that really screams at me. I'm not the most creative person in the world, as evidenced by my current SN. :guess

I like Spanish Mockingbird too. I know what you mean though, when you hear "the one", you will know.

The Loggerhead Shrike reminds me of a penguin. It almost looks like it is wearing a tuxedo. I love it when people post about something interesting that I've never heard of. I like researching and learning about new things.

It's an awesome bird, if a little irritating when you have to be out in the field for 8 hours a day when there's a 100+ degree heat index, with no shade and no birds to be found. But it is a VERY interesting species.

memphis belle?
I'm not from Memphis, though, even though I would LOVE to live there. Crossville belle or Richmond belle doesn't have quite the same ring. :cry

I sorta like "birdbrain," but that might be asking for it, considering the tone of the board lately.

I think that is hilarious!! That one made me laugh. It sounds like a fun name to me. :heh:

Fancy Mocker?

Masked Songbird?

Freebird?

I dunno, it won't hurt my feelings if you don't like them. I'm having fun trying to create a new name for these birds. I have no life and this sort of thing excites me...........did I just say that out loud?

I like those, but I'm really starting to like birdbrain. I'll think on it for a couple of days just to make sure, though.

Lauren, I think you should have something that sounds intelligent.

You are a very intelligent person. I don't think birdbrain fits you at

all. Has WASA chimed in yet? She would have an opinion , I am sure.

I'm sorry, I don't get changing names, maybe I'll want to change later, though. Ya never know :)

I know you as Laurend, I LIKE Laurend. And I know I'm talking to Lauren, or as with Denise822, Denise... or in my case, Faith.

Guess mine wasn't that creative, either. LOL!

Completely unrelated.. sue me.

But the uvula comment made me laugh.

I had a uvula-ectomy.. when I was about 10.

And I was going around saying I had my vulva taken out :rolleyes

And anytime I said I had my uvula taken out, people do pause.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
