Frustrated at weight loss!!

Recommended Posts

Hiya evberyone, hope you are doing well. I ahve been doing great so far and lost a lot of weight since the op but I have come to a standstill and don't know what to do. The problem is that I feel I have pretty good restriction and I would be nervous of having another fill incase I became too tight, is this just my body trying to catch up??

Any suggestions appreciated

Happy new year!!

I'm in the same boat but I don't have much restriction. I have been combatting it by going for long walks every day. I really want to get more off so I am going to push for an earlier fill if I can.

Fairydust:

Bella seems to be doing a great job. I think what they say about hitting a plateau is to change things. Exercise more or journal what you are eating to make sure extra calories aren't slipping in and increase the Water you drink. One of my friends told me to change the foods I was eating and that seemed to help.

I know that I get into ruts with my menu sometimes because I think of eating as a requirement, not something that I enjoy anymore, so I just try to make it as easy as possible. For instance, I buy a box of Cereal. I portion it out into plastic cups with covers and throw them in my bag for work. I will eat one of them each day at work. So, though convenient, I get into these ruts of eating the same things each day.

Good luck getting past your plateau.

Yep what Sue said :D

You need to change up your diet just abit. Make sure you are eating solid Protein first. I quit doing this for awhile and quit losing as well.

Change around your exercize routine to shake your body up :woot: I got to almost 50# loss and stalled there for 2 weeks. Once I re-checked my food habits I started losing again.

I have found with me, if I up (yes, I said UP) my calories a bit, then cut them again, my body is "shocked" and the weight loss starts again.

I am also at a standstill and i am about ready to scream

I am almost 7 months out and I hit the 75lb lost at 6 months and i have not lost anything for almost a month. (I have actually gained)

My dietian from my office said my body was in starvation mode because I was only getting in 500-600 cal per day she said I have to up it to 1000- 1200 per day and itr will take around 2 weeks for my body to start losing again

It better come off fast

I forse myself to eat I think I may be a bit to tight so I made up my mind if I do not start losing gain by the end of this month I am going in to see my surgan again to see what is wrong with me. (besides being fat)

Good luck I know exactly how you feel

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
