New fill is a challenge

Recommended Posts

I was filled 0.6 on last Wed. and I have really felt the difference. I'm thinking its rite or a tad much but I will wade through it and make sure the swelling goes down or any irratation from the fill. I have to be very careful what I try to eat......Like it is as it should be now and before I was playing around..

I will follow up.

Hey Bobby,

Yep, a new fill can really get our attention, can't it? Take it slow and be careful with it. The good thing it that I'm sure you'll see some weight drop off now, and that's very motivating. Be good! ;):)

Bobby, how is your fill doing now? I just got a very, very tight fill on Wednesday morning and I am on the fence on whether I should go get some out. Did yours loosen up yet?

I'm so glad you have relief Blossom, you will probably still have nice restriction when it comes to eating solids but now it wont be such a struggle getting in for both liquids and solids...

All of you guys are making me nervous. I called my doctor today and told the nurse I think I need a fill because I fill like I can eat too much. It is scheduled for Monday the 28th. Should I be worried? Is it going to hurt?

bobby, I know my doctor makes you wait 5 days now to eat solid food after a fill. But, you still shouldn't be having major problems like that. Are you having sinus troubles? My band always gets tighter when I have sinus problems

I just had my first fill Fri 2-18. For the first two days I really felt restriction. But now I am sure I am able to eat more than I should. However, I know you guys told me to take it easy as the restriction will sometimes sneak up on you. I am very much looking forward to that day. How long do you think it will take before I begin to really feel it again?

Tracie,

I have had three fills and have yet to feel a single thing during them. And at two of the fills they had trouble getting into the port yet I still didn't feel it. Ports not that deep under the skin So its not like getting a shot into the muscle where it hurts. You'll be fine...don't worry.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
