Jonathan 5 Posted February 12, 2005 Hey guys, So, I realize that with the band, you're supposed to eat 3 meals a day and not snack between meals. Well, if I were good at that kinda thing, it's possible I might not have needed the band in the first place. =) I'm sure I'm not alone, and I'm sure many of you have found healthy Snacks that you can eat between meals and be just fine. So, what do you guys snack on? Fess up!
New Hope 37 Posted February 12, 2005 Yes, I'm a snacker, and not always a healthy one either. The last ones are not the best bandster choices... Peeled, cut-up fruits~raw vegetable w/ or w/out dips~tuna salad w/couple crackers~frosted shredded wheat mini squares (also good Fiber source)~cheese cubes~no sugar-added chocolate pudding~weight watchers chocolate cake w/icing~2 or 3 peanut/butter crackers
paula 4 Posted February 13, 2005 My favorite Snacks are cheese cubes, popcorn and peanuts, actually any kinds of nuts. Also, Carb-Well Breakfast bars is another snack I like. These are the healthy one's that Im telling about... Im gonna keep the not-so healthy ones under my hat!
bigmom 1 Posted February 13, 2005 I have been snacking on sugar free apples sauces, sugar free pudding (heps with the Calcium intake), sugar free popsickles and crysyal light by the gallon. I am three and a half weeks after banding and am down 22 lbs. Good luck on creating ineresting Snacks if you come up with anything innovative let us know
dori b 0 Posted February 13, 2005 I use the frosted mini wheats as a snack too. I also like to stir some lowfat Peanut Butter up with raisins and slowly eat that....I figure it the raisins will help keep me moving and the peanut butter is protein..and mixing it together keeps me from eating too much of either. I just discovered string cheese....I like pulling it apart!! extra Calcium there but I won't go too crazy eating lots of it. I also like tuna or egg salad made with lite mayo, I use low fat wheat thins as chips and the salad as my 'dip'.....actually, I have that more as a meal than a snack...but you could do either. Alexandra 55 Posted February 13, 2005 When I'm well restricted, I really don't snack. That's the miracle of the band. But at other times I'll definitely need a little something at about 3:00 in the afternoon. My whole office is on the low-carb bandwagon, so there are always nuts around. It just takes a few to take the edge off. Recently I've been having serious carb cravings, which I've been indulging because I need the fiber. A trail mix with dried fruit is a staple now. And there's always cheese with a cup of tea. The other day I bought a box of Wheat Thins and actually put away about 2/3 of the box!! So I'm staying away from crackers--they're dangerous. Belle joufflue une 1 Posted February 14, 2005 Reading your postings on snacking is a real testament to how much the band helps regulate eating. I mean...think about snacking before the band, and now after the band. I bet it has changed a lot! I like the suggestions you gave. Especially nuts, which I love!
