:)Good morning everyone, I am finally getting the process underway:whoo:I went to my first consult with the surgeon on Friday the 28th as well as to get cleared with the pulmonologist the same day and was cleared!!!!!! So now all I have to do is see the pysicologist and nutritionist to get approval. Well I know that will be fine, I am just worried about the insurance hope they will approve soon:confused: I have no medical problems associated with the weight but my family history is pretty bad. I just don't want to end up with all those problems. does anyone know if maybe my insurance will approve me based just on my BMI Which is 48.1 alone? I know my insurance only needs to see the psch dr and nutritionist with a THS. I am just so nervous that they wont approve with no bad medical history! I have been this way all my life and have tried everything to lose weight been going on 17 years now since I was 12. I feel real positive some days but others i am so scarred they wont approve:faint:I cant wait to get this done. I am so happy I found this web site it has really been a big help to me and I look forward to meeting some new friends on here. Good luck to you all who are in the process like me and congrats to the ones who have already had their band put in :clap2:

I to have no medical problems except for my fatness and i was approved that doesn't mean anything tho cause insurance companys tend to nitpick if you know what i mean hope all goes well,

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
